Balkzardan - The Thunder Monster
Original monster created for Godzilla: Trading Battle
Balkzardan from Godzilla: Trading Battle (PSX) 1998
Hybrid of Inagami and Balkzardan making Balkzardgami!
Kaiju and “sanctuaries”
I’ve been thinking about the idea of “lost worlds” and “sacred places” with kaiju.
Places that harbor life from multiple time periods thought to extinct.
Varan, is a monster in both senses of the word, being of the opinion that “noise violation” = kill your neighbors, but if they are entrusted with protecting their lake and section of the river it could be somewhat more sympathetic. And ironic that this very overreaction leads to the lake being poisoned by military in response.
(Also could freaking explain what was up with those Siberian butterflies)
Balkzardan might work as a guardian of a pocket dimension similar to that of Todora from Ultra Q.
And partially wondering if perhaps, the reason some kaiju exist could be say, linked to accidental destruction of these sacred places. Like say the underwater caves Godzilla speculated dwelled in prior to the atomic bomb?
