B, F, H thank you 😊
B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
Hell yes. I already posted the Everlark ones, but here are the non-Everlark ones.
Finally (Pretty much something in every chapter was inspired by my life. Some direct dialogue. All the characters, except Josh. Most of the events.)
Moral Quagmire (My friend Debbie used my name and profession in her story, and I wrote an offshoot story about it.)
Ball Collection and Ball Adventures (I wrote so much snark in this story because…well, I’m super snarky.)
F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
I already posted one from Mic Drop, but I’ll include another one from a forthcoming story called Maybe This Summer. I’m particularly proud of it because it’s snarky and punny, and I also love Finnick and Peeta’s friendship.
“Don’t talk about Cashe like that,” Peeta said, mirroring Finnick’s defense of Annie. “She was a great girlfriend.”
“But you broke up. Quite a while ago, in fact. Maybe it’s time to get back on the horse.”
“Women aren’t horses, Finn.”
“It’s a metaphor, Mellark. Get back in the saddle. Get the boots knocking. Ride a cowgirl, or something like that.”
“You have got to stop,” he laughed. “I’m not interested in anyone here. Not really. It’ll have to wait.”
“New people come every day. Pun intended.”
H: How would you describe your style?
This question is particularly fascinating to me because I think I have a fairly distinctive style, but I don’t really know how to explain it. @xerxia31 tells me she can always tell when something’s mine, so I think I definitely have a style.
In general, I think my writing is fairly straight forward. I don’t use a lot of unnecessary words, and I try to keep it clear and clean. I also write a lot of gritty, angsty, sad, realistic stories, but I tend to also include some fluffy, snarky stuff in the story. Maybe my style is self-deprecating humor in the writing itself.
Thanks for asking, darling! Ask me about my fanfic.
