kind of insane that a week ago i could barely put my palms on the ground doing a cambre forward / standing pike stretch which was so so depressing for me (i was resigned to being like. well at least i can still touch my toes lmfao) and now i have my full folded in half w chest flat against my legs again. i mean lowkey this is why my hamstrings are bleeding into my thigh flesh lol but whatever it's fine i can comfortably sit folded in half again. well not comfortably when clearly it's hurting me pretty severely. but like. doesn't hurt while i'm doing it :)

#there's a lot of stuff that's like still ingrained in my muscle memory which was thrilling to discover #but also a lot of muscles i just haven't used at all in those 15 years so like. i just fell apart lmao #mostly core/balance stuff i think. center adagio was BRUTAL #but then ofc ending on grand allegro made me so happy and felt so good AUGH i love ballet #I STILL HAVE THE JUMPS!!! wait just realized there was never a time in my life where me being a ballet dancer and being out as a lesbian overlapped at all and SO much of my time as a dancer was about molding myself into incredibly specific restrictive hyperfeminine ideals of desirability that's so wild. i don't have any idea what it looks like to do ballet as an unabashed dyke. huh. ok lets treat this as like. an interesting experiment. gotta think of it as creating something new from the ground up rather than pathetically and futilely trying to recapture something i've long lost
