Pokemon Card of the Day #3011: Balloon Berry (Neo Revelation)

Balloon Berry was an interesting Pokemon Tool that helped the Pokemon it was attached to if it needed to retreat. When it did so, Balloon Berry was discarded instead of discarding Energy cards. This was useful for Pokemon with high retreat costs that also didn't really want to attack most of the time, such as Slowking (without the errata, of course) or Muk. There was some argument to use it alongside Steelix as well to help against Double Gust, but Steelix itself could fight back if it had any Energy on it at all before being forced out so this was less common. Balloon Berry was typically only played in decks that had bench sitters with high Retreat Costs, due to only working once, but was still nice to have in those.
