#Balloon Fiesta

was just talking to a friend and remembered probably the happiest accident of my entire life.

I was driving cross-country with my parents when they were moving to california, and we had to stop in albuquerque for the night. dad was huffing and moaning because the prices were sooo expensive even though we were staying in the crappiest hotel of all time, and then we got there and found out--

that was because we were there during the balloon fiesta!

so I remember waking up at the absolute ass-crack of dawn and wandering out into the hotel's parking lot and seeing this:

some even flew right overhead...

it was so fun and beautiful and the entire thing was entirely by accident. :')

It's time once again for the Rio Grande Arts & Crafts festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico! The first weekend has wrapped up, but @ssantara and I will be back this coming weekend with matted and framed prints, original artwork, blankets, and more!

I didn't take many photos this morning. Live-streaming short bits on multiple platforms. A few balloons got low enough to splash and dash further south, but most of them were too high to make the drop. Beautiful morning.
