That is the issue with ballot measures — they’re often put forward by special interest groups who have a vested interest in making them as confusing as can be on purpose to trick you into signing over power to them.
Part of that confusion is that the measures are written to sound neutral, as though you’re not really making major decisions (you’ll notice that the consequences of each proposal are never properly explained on the ballot) but behind the political jargon are real questions about power, accountability, and who gets a say in shaping the destinies of countless lives!!
But don’t worry, we gotchu! We broke down all six of NYC’s 2025 ballot proposals in plain language so you know exactly what they mean (and what’s really at stake).
Because informed votes are powerful votes.
