I love the villain degradation trope.
I dunno if that's what it's actually called but like... I think it's hilarious when low tier villains from earlier in the media's story show up again and the protags are like oh hey, you! How have you been?
It's not at all a redemption arc bc the villain hasn't changed in the slightest. It's just that the stakes are so much higher the earlier villains don't like, register, and now they're working some minimum wage job because "being a villain" isn't really a functional skill you can put on a resume so they have to start at square one with employment like the rest of us
