hello, i hope you won't mind me asking you to explain how come you typed will graham as INFP, I usually see him typed as INFJ. I also think he's more of an INFP but i always thought that was me being infp talking and imagining things, thanks

The whole show screams INFP to me, with all its artsy dreamlike sequences and gloomy vibes. That and Twin Peaks are pure INFP weirdness.

As for Will, it’s hard for me to succinctly explain how I type people because I would have to elaborate on how I understand the whole theory behind it, and nobody has time for that.

But the key elements to look out for are: 1) Will’s vivid imagination and his inability to differentiate between what’s real and what isn’t are classic xNxP themes. Fanciful imagination: stereotypical INFP; wise vision: stereotypical INFJ.

2) When you associate his super empathy with his wild imagination, you get the textbook definition of INFP (introverted feeling + extraverted intuition). He literally becomes the other person by making up scenarios and thereby loses all sense of objectivity (detached objectivity being a -TJ notion, the opposite of -FP). What matters isn’t how people interact (-NFJ) but how people work on the inside (-NFP).

3) Dude’s a mess, really chaotic. Even when xNxJs are unwell, they don’t look half as insane as xNxPs. That’s the power of the -J, which Will doesn’t have.

4) Point 3) is even more obvious when you compare Will to Hannibal, who is the opposite of messy: their dynamic is indeed one of opposition, -FP vs -TJ. Will is unable to not empathize whereas Hannibal is coldly detached. They’re not two judgers interacting, that wouldn’t create the same contrast.
