Sometimes people really don't have a better option but to stay in a job they hate and that is stressful and not necessarily good for them mentally. Sometimes paying for rent and groceries and saving for something better is necessary. You really shouldn't put them down for their decision to stay until they HAVE a better option. Being unsupportive of your "friends" because you think they should be able to just quit and be happier is not really being a friend at all. Just because that is an option for some people who have parents or a partner or someone else who can support them and is willing to do so doesn't mean that is an option for everyone. Even if you think they should find something else, putting them down for not just leaving and dealing with the consequences is not the answer. Especially when you know they are working TOWARD leaving and getting something better.
On that note, thank you baltharus for being supportive and reacting in the exact opposite way I have been conditioned to expect from people. Thank you for listening to my rants and being there for me. I love you!!
