I just realised Sherlock held his own against an ex-assassin in hand combat for a few minutes???

I know we all love to think and make headcanons of Sherlock being his little smoll gay baby self but I feel like sometimes we forget that he also actually a very dangerous man and so I invite you to think about this…. John getting kidnaped by some guys and Sherlock getting a picture of him unconscious. Sherlock, obviously, deduces the place where they are keeping him and when he enters the room where they have him John is already fighting his captor (because he is a BAMF like that) but he is loosing because he has already been severely beaten up. So Sherlock uses his full weight to take the man off of him and then proceeds to beat the shit out of him. Like, bruuutally. Until John is all like “Ok, Sherlock that’s enough. Sherlock. Sherlock! STOP!" So Sherlock kicks him one last time and then calls the ambulance.

"Sherlock, you want I should call the police?"

Oh, good God, it was Angelo. Out of the corner of his eye, Sherlock caught sight of the man hovering uncertainly on his threshold, half of his kitchen staff behind him.

"Oh, yes, would you?" John snapped, dodging a lunge. "That would be so bloody helpful." Swinging to his left, he pistol-whipped his opponent with admirable enthusiasm, sending the man to the ground, where he lay semi-conscious and muttering.

Sherlock felt rather than saw the man before him twitch open his coat; a quick glance confirmed the profile of a Browning in the breast pocket. "Get back inside!" Sherlock shouted to Angelo. The knife at his throat gave him a shallow jab as Angelo slammed the door shut, and a hand seized his wrist, pressing with precision until his hand went numb. His gun rattled on the pavement. Impressive. Inconvenient, but impressive.

Turning toward Sherlock, John froze for a second, just a second; Sherlock could see a soldier's appraisal of the situation in his eyes and stance. John then brought his weapon to bear, drawing closer. "Stand away from him. Do it now." Sherlock noted with satisfaction that he had been proven correct; John could be thoroughly frightening when the situation demanded it.

Sherlock Shoots Him Because...

**Warning Spoilers***

What I love about Sherlock shooting Magnussen (MERRY CHRISTMAS!) is not just that he did it to fulfill his vow to protect John, Mary, and the baby.  He did it because he has to stand there and watch Magnussen humiliate John.

I half expected John to just lose it and kill the guy, especially given how BAMF he was this episode.  But no, Sherlock tells him to allow it. 

AND THEN SHERLOCK BLOWS MAGNUSSEN'S HEAD OFF.

You do NOT touch John Watson!
