Great episode.
Rick does what needs to be done, shows he should be the leader. If Shane or Dale or any of them had kids, and their kid was lost, they couldn't have just said, "Oh well, we should just leave." Rick made the right call, there's no way he could've known. Otis was the only one that could've known, and I think he was gunned down before the rest of the camp even got there and he learned that Sophia was missing. Also though, he couldn't have said, "Oh yeah, I found her and put her in our barn full of zombies, wanna come see?" Unless he wanted to scare them off before they got comfy.
Lori Grimes, once again proving she's a moron. Rick leaves with Glenn to find Herschel. He tells her where he's going, what he's doing, tells her he's going to come back with Herschel. Yet she leaves to tell Rick to come back with Herschel. Makes absolutely no sense. Then the dumbass doesn't watch where she's going and hits a zombie. I'm glad she got into a car wreck. Moron. Serves her right for making so many dumbass decisions.
You can see the balance of power shifting. Dale is losing his "man behind the curtain" status. Shane is getting fed up with the idea of moral relativity. Daryl gave being a good guy a shot, and wound up being pushed away by Carol, bitched at by Lori and even getting an arrow in the stomach and a bullet across the head. So he's basically done. We'll see where this goes.
Also, I loved the characters we briefly saw at the end. Kind of like the Mexican guys in the first season, shows how other people are handling things during this apocalypse. I like things like that. And it was badass how Rick dealt with that. All this time, you see Rick and he's like, "I gotta do what's right," and that typically meant giving impassioned speeches and ordering people around and shooting a few zombies in the head, not cold-headshotting a guy in the fucking head and then turning around and pumping three bullets into his buddy who barely had time to put his dick away after taking a leak. Rick is a badass, and Herschel saw it, and Glenn saw it, and take-no-prisoners Rick is on his way into this world.
Missed the preview because I had probability homework to finish doing, but I'm still excited to see what happens next week.
