Okay so since some of you might want to know where I've been over the past few days and also because I want to write this down so I remember this for later, here's what happened:
Yesterday, on Friday the 8th, my friend and I went to Europe's biggest IT and computer fare, CeBit. It was in Hannover, which is in Germany and not too far from where we live. Normally, tickets are very expensive, but both of us actually won them! And you know how? A group of pro-gamers was giving away tickets for those with the most creative stories or reasons as to why they got there. Well, my friend, he said he'd live off of ramen noodles for a month if he didn't get the ticket for free. And, I, weeeeeell.... I pretended to be his girlfriend and said that I promised him if we both got to go there, he'd 'get some' from me on the weekend ;D And it worked!! :D
So, there we were. the area was REALLY huge, with several halls and lots of different companies. I gotta admit that most of it wasn't really interesting to us since it's not like we have any idea about IT. But hey, at least we got some free giveaway stuff!
But then... then we got to Hall 23... which was the gamer hall. AND IT WAS AWESOME. It was huge, like the other halls, and there were computers everywhere where you could test new games and stuff, and there was also the Starcraft World Tournament where you could watch the best Starcraft players duel live! But the most amazing of it all was the XMG show. XMG is, I think, a brand for gaming hardware, but it didn't actually really matter because they were giving away lots of free stuff and that was the most important thing! So there were, headsets, mouses, joysticks, and also tshirts, towels, frisbees and other stuff.
Naturally, lots of people went to these shows and it was really packed because everyone wanted a piece. My friend and I went to these shows 3 times - the first and second time, we didn't really manage to get a good spot, so all I got was a frisbee. BUT, the third time... I think it will definitely go into my 'Badass moments of my life' folder. So here's what happened:
We went there early and managed to get a good spot at the front and the guys on stage were, like always, just randomly throwing these giveaway things into the masses (I think there might've been like 200 people there....) in between advertising for the new Lara Croft game and their hardware stuff. And finally, finally they threw an awesome green-black XMG towel my way. But because it was so packed and most of the people were tall guys, of course I wasn't the only one to get my hands on it. For a short moment, I thought, let it go, you don't stand a chance anyway... but then I was like, FUCK it, I am NOT going home without a single souvenir and then I began PULLING on it like crazy. So there were like 4 other guys pulling on it but eventually I managed to snag the biggest piece and one of the guys was like, cmon, she already got it, let her have it. And I was like, victory!, when all of a sudden, someone BEHIND me began pulling on it. And I was so fucking pissed because I already had the towel and NO WAY was I giving it up, so I turned around and I'm not kidding, I literally SCREAMED into his face, "LET THE FUCK GO IT'S MIIIIIINE!!" and yeah, I think that scared him off. v____v Anyway, when I returned, I think my friend looked at me with more respect than before and I said to him - "Well what did you expect? Bitchfights are won by bitches, and I'm the HBIC here." Later, when it was over, I actually discovered I had wounds on my hand and knuckles, so like, idk, I think I might've accidentally punched someone? Ooops. (Worth it.)

And yeah, I was pretty proud of myself and that might've been the end of it, but then, just like in previous shows, they started a demo of the new Lara Croft game. And the whole time, they had been trying to get past a wolf that attacks you and which you have to kill, but they just couldn't manage it. So they were always calling people up front onto the stage to try it as well, but no one managed to as well. It was the same this time around as well, and of course, most of the people were guys. So in the rush of adrenaline, I screamed really loudly, "CMON LET A GIRL TRY TOO!" and the poeple around me agreed and started pointing at me too aND THEY LET ME GO ON STAGE!! So I told them my name, and they said, 'Give it up for Vera!" and then I got to try it too and I got farther than anyone else before, in all the shows!!!! And normally, everyone only got 2 tries, but because I was so good, they let me try a third time and everyone was cheering, "VERA! VERA! VERA!" it was SO AWESOME. I still didn't manage to kill him, but it didn't matter because they gave me presents anyway!!! So I got a Lara Croft shirt and a comic and normally I would've also gotten pretty pictures in frames from the game, but I decided to give them away to the crowd because I'd already gotten so much and I'm nice like that. v___v
And yeah, I left the fare with battle wounds and feeling pretty badass, so I guess I can say the day was a total success. :D
