Le festivale des lanternes.
Funneled Web
Betsy couldn’t describe the sensation of emerging from a cocoon made of tar, but any word that came to mind wasn’t pleasant. Where she’d been taken in just her sleeping shirt, she now emerged in a suit of a different kind, like a second skin. Fingers ended in claws, and when she touched her face, she found her face was covered as well. A̼̔h̘͊,̦̜̊̌ t̨̖́̔ẖ̜̃͊is̥̊ ì̛̤ͅs͚̭̋͞ ạ̧̓͗ s̖͗ṱ̦̽͒r̖̙̀͠o̺̚n͙̖͗̕g̡͙̓͂ ȏ̙n̥͚͂̿e̻̋́͟. It was like thumbtacks being shoved into the back of her skull. But during her time in stasis, she knew acceptance of its sway was better than fighting it off. Because if she had, this creature - whatever it was - would find someone else to harvest. At least this way, she could keep it at bay from hurting anyone else. A pink psi-blade formed, though there were tendrils of black ink mixed in. Good; she still had her powers, albeit tainted. Memories Remain || Frank and Kurt
@bamfingblueberryelf
Frank wasn’t entirely sure what was going on at this point, but he knew where he might find answers. The mansion had become a meeting place or at least a place where people congregated. In other circumstances he might have left his large bag filled with weapons outside out of some kind of respect. The problem was that at this point he might need those weapons inside the mansion.
He entered the mansion and looked around for a moment. When he didn’t see anyone he made his way to the kitchen. If nothing else he could take a moment to make some more coffee. Possibly that would be enough time for someone to come into the kitchen so he could get an update. His plan worked better than he thought it would because it seemed the kitchen was already occupied.
He didn’t recognize the young man at first. It didn’t help that several people wore masks which made identifying them a little more difficult. Though helpfully the young man had some distinct facial scars which Frank’s memory matched to another young man who looked a great deal different. The scars were the same though which likely meant something new was going on.
“You look like a hot chocolate fan,” Frank said after starting the coffeemaker. It took him a moment to fill a kettle and start it boiling. He set his bag down on the floor beside a chair and looked at the kid for a moment. “Something going on?”

It wasn’t out of the norm for Raven to wake up in someone else’s skin, so she wasn’t too taken off guard when she woke up and found herself much smaller in bed. It was only when she realized that she was unknowingly mimicking how she appeared when she was like, seven or so that it dawned on her that maybe.. maybe this wasn’t quite normal. Did she have a bad dream without knowing it? And why didn’t she feel the troll of changing her size down to someone so small? Was the city somehow messing with her mutation..?!
No, she could easily shape shift back to her normal size and forms. The blue, the blonde, the- wait, why was this a bit harder to do? Did she somehow pass out for a few days and get out of practice? Had she been hurt, poisoned? Was that why she was healing up as a child instead of her normal size? That didn’t really make too much sense though..
Wait, Kurt.
If someone got to her, what about him?! Her boy- did she fail him for a third time? Was he hurt again? No, no, no, no-! Raven quickly ran to where she knew Kurt would be sleeping, threw open the door and went to check on the body in the bed when her heart got caught in her throat.
Her son. He was...
Emotions flooding her senses, the shape-shifter stepped back and covered her mouth. Hot tears ran down her face as she stared at her boy. She had never seen him as a child before. She never thought she would. After all, she had thought he was dead and then the fact he most likely didn’t have many family photos growing up..
But here he was.
Untamed
Psylocke had never felt this alive in so long. Feeling unbridled, not having to adhere to any rules, not forcing herself to play nice just so that the others wouldn’t ignore her... It had all taken a toll on her, and she was glad to be rid of it. She was in the middle of a nice coasting over the rooftops, bathed in shadow save for the striking red mark across her eye, when she encountered the red fog first hand. What was fog to a mistress of shadows? Her overconfidence was a mistake on her part as she felt her body begin to shift and change. Her hair fell out in large clumps until there was nothing but a smooth, bulbous pate. What was her jaw elongated and split, the meat and sinew reconstructing themselves into long tendrils. Her skin paled and her limbs grew longer, thinner, until she was an entire foot taller than her normal height. The scream that escaped her didn’t come out quite right, and when she groped for where her mouth would be, only long tentacles greeted her touch, each with a mind of their own. Her mind would lash out for the one called Kurt, their intrigue for each other wrapped in shadow and unadulterated bitterness for the world. A surge of pain would jolt through his mind, though no words would explain how or why.

Shadow Tag
@bamfingblueberryelf
Betsy couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt so free in this city. There were no concerns about stepping on toes, no desire to play nice. She’d didn’t understand why those thoughts plagued her for so long, wanting to fit in. As far as she was concerned, she didn’t need anyone else. Until she met the elf, of course. Bearing the same mark as she did, she automatically felt drawn to him. Not just the mark either; there were invisible dark threads that seemed to draw them together until they weren’t something she could ignore anymore. She couldn’t ignore him either. “I hope you’re not letting me win, Kurt. I don’t need you sucking up to my ego.” Melting through the shadows of the building, this had quickly become their favourite game. Shadow-tag when the sun was up, a test of their powers to see if they could venture from the shadows of one skyscraper to the next without being caught. It wasn’t only a test of their skills, but also a means of just having fun. Fun she couldn’t remember the last time she’d had. And it got them away from the others and their discerning, judgmental stares. They weren’t going to chain her down to obedience anymore. She was about to make another slip into the blackness when she came face to face with the elf. Taken by surprise, she knew that if she hesitated, froze, he would win this little game and start his bragging spree again. No, she liked the little sparks that danced in their close proximity. Would it really be so bad to let him win? “Remind me what we wagered again?” she asked softly, almost teasingly.

Bruce knew that he would have to change back to Hulk soon and he was too far from where he’d been staying to stash the bag of clothes he had there. If he just left it somewhere it would easily be lost or he wouldn’t be able to find it again. He moved quickly hoping he could find a memorable place to put it for later.
Relief filled him when he saw a barn. Easily memorable and a good place to store the bag. He picked up his pace as he made his way to the barn. His head was starting to hurt which told him some of the more severe symptom of radiation sickness were going to come on fairly soon.
“Hello?” he called. If someone had already claimed this place he hoped they’d be understanding. “Anyone here? I don’t mean to intrude, I just need to ask for a favor.” The place seemed gloomy, but something told him it wasn’t empty. He’d gotten feelings like that since the accident. Itches between his shoulder blades that warned him someone was coming. This wasn’t a bad feeling, just a sense of someone.
