Why is it the high time that whole world should boycott Chinese products?
After the outbreak of COVID-19, entire world faced to a big downfall of the economy. China has been the hub of manufacturing for many of the world leading companies. It exports total worth of $224,069,819,000 phones, systems and devices including smartphones, around $148,463,426,000 of computers and optical readers and many more. China is the top exporter in the world, it exported around 2499.09 billion dollars worth of products in 2019 itself. But why we need to boycott the Chinese products? China whose economy majorly relies on its export of goods, actually uses its money to invest in small countries such that at the end, country becomes so much in debt that they have no choice but allow china to use their land for military bases.
China is the world’s major global lender, with its outstanding claims now is more than 5% of the global GDP. Infact, almost all of the lending comes from the government and state owned entities. China has lent $1.5 trillion in direct loans and trade credits surpassing even World bank, IMF and all OECD creditor government combined.
Many of the countries like Djibouti, Tonga, Maldives, the Republic of the Congo, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, Niger, Laos, Zambia, Samoa, Vanuatu, and Mongolia, owe debt of atleast 20% of their nominal GDP to china.
Having debt of such a huge amount, allows china to have a leverage over these countries to establish their military bases in these countries. Allowing them to have ability to threaten almost any country in the world. For example, a country named srilanka, had to give its one of the port to china for the operations because of huge debt, which allows them to have a better strategic position over india in the case of war or even for business. Similarly, maldives and many other countries allow china to have their military bases to threaten almost any country in the world.
Now, if you look back, it all started by china lending money to developing or under developed country, and how do they get this money? We give it to them by using their products, by purchasing their products. The question is how to get rid of the chinese products when it is too deep in the market.
Start with all the Softwares, get rid of all the mobile apps, like tiktok, PUBG etc, to stop the money flow via softwares, try to find alternatives which is not chinese. Then try to buy products which are not china made, even though its more expensive, try products manufactured of build in your own country. Stop using softwares from today and replace all the hardwares in the next couple of years.
We need to understand the seriousness, governments can not do much as we are the buyers, and countries have many restrictions to stop import of products from a single country. Its on us to decide what we should buy, and naturally we tend to buy something we get at a cheaper price, without understanding how it will affect our country and benefit othes..
