Mr. Mister was an American pop rock band that existed between 1982 and 1990.
Richard Page initially worked as a studio musician (among others for Quincy Jones) and composed for Michael Jackson, Donna Summer, Kenny Loggins, Al Jarreau and many others.
At the end of the 1970s he founded the band Pages in Phoenix (Arizona) with his friend Steve George, who was also an extremely active studio musician. In 1978 their first album was released, simply called 'Pages'. A year later the album Future Street was released with the single 'I Do Believe in You' (US charts number 84, December 15, 1979). This title was recorded a year later by the band America on the album Alibi (Capitol Records), with Richard Page also taking part as backing vocalist.
The band's breakthrough came in the fall of 1985 with the album 'Welcome to the Real World', from which came the songs 'Broken Wings' and 'Kyrie', which became number one hits in the United States. The third single 'Is It Love' peaked at number eight. The album peaked at number one on the US charts and went platinum.
In 1988 there were differences within the band, after which Steve Farris left.
The fourth album 'Pull', completed in 1989, was not released after the record company dropped the band, which also broke up the following year.
