My Thoughts On the Emily Song by MCR Possible Origin.

FAIR WARNING. I WILL BE GOING INTO A DEEPDIVE INTO THE SONG EMILY BY MCR, I RECCOMEND YOU LISTEN TO IT IF YOU HAVEN'T, IT'S A REALLY GOOD SONG :]

It's quite obvious i'm part of brandon—and for quite some time at that—especially when it comes to My Chemical Romance. If you look through my—rather short—time on tumblr, however, there is one topic has been on my mind for years now.

The Black Parade/Living with ghosts, an album published in 2016 for the 10th anniversary for their 2006 album (this year in october will be it's 20th). why am i talking about this album though? Well for one single track, Emily - Rough Mix. This song is one of my favorites, from the vocals, to the instrumental, even to the lyrics. Though, they always stuck out to me. They are rather dark compared to any other song for the black parade. But I also realized another thing…it made no sense for the album. The lyrics are just way out of character for the the concept. If you are completely new to My Chemical Romance, the album The Black Parade is a concept album about a man living through cancer, and through his journey he experiences the black parade, which one could speculate it's a form of hell for him through many context clues throughout the tracks. However, with Emily, it's…very out of place. The Emily is a song about two people in a situation where they killed someone, specifically, a child. Supposedly they knew this child, as she is name dropped as Emily in the chorus. The lyrics showcase panic, begging, even guilt, which is why I say this doesn't go with the album one bit. So, you must be wondering, if it's not for The Black Parade, then what could it's origin be from?

Ever heard of the concept album Paper Kingdom?

Paper Kingdom is a bing thing in the mcr fandom, it has been anticipated ever since 2012, that was until they broke up in 2013. Although, the re-banded in 2019, so people have been anticipating ever since then. There is something that makes me hesitant of it's release though, and that'[s simply the fact it got cancelled because Gerard had noted that he wasn't feeling the right spark that he envisioned for the album. Anyhow, I found Paper Kingdom through an iceberg video.

If you'd rather just read the concept here, it can honestly be summed up in one sentenence.

Paper Kingdom is a concept album about a group of parents that have lost their children in horrific ways. People within the sessions described it as one of the most toughest sessions mcr has ever had.

So, why am I talking about this? Well, I believe Emily was originally made for Paper Kingdom. It matches the themes of the album, and if I were to connect it I would say two of the parents in the group are carrying the heavy weight of murdering a child when realizing her parents are in the same group. The lyrics give me the idea that it was a complete accident.

It could be a one-off song honestly, but that doesn't make much sense to me, normally when they make songs with stories, it connects to something.

have you ever wanted a bandom just to tone it down a bit. like, i love some of these bands very very dearly, but im soo sick of seeing the same edits and pages and pages and pages of the same twitter conversations. And im so happy that these bands are popular and making money or meeting people or whatever, but holy shit. I just saw the same tweet conversation for 6 different people.

AND the shipping. y'all gotta take that down a couple notches too. idec who its for.

I Swear I'm Not A Bandom Blog

I hate when people assume that band dudes are stupid and only care about sex, booze, and money. If you actually sit down and read the interviews with them or talk face-to-face with them, most of them are really fucking smart. Take Pete Wentz. Everyone just assumes he's a douchebag who only married whatshername Simpson for money. NO! He genuinely loved her and Bronx. HE DID NOT WANT THAT DIVORCE. SHE DID. He had a really hard time with it. Besides that, yeah, he had issues, he struggled with depression and drug use, but he fought through it with the people he cared about and got better. He doesn't think he's better than anyone else, he calls himself 'stupid' and 'a douchebag'. People seem to forget that he's actually intelligent too. He only drooped out of college to do music. Another example is Gerard Way. He's another one everyone thinks of as a stupid, druggie, 'faggot'. Have they ever actually listened to the lyrics he's written? He talks about some real shit. Life, death, the lie that is fame. He's definitely had his issues. But he fought through them and encourages others, especially the fans, to do the same. His comics address a number of world issues as well as being highly entertaining. He,as well as the rest of My Chemical Romance, got shit on for supposedly encouraging suicide. I'm sorry, but I have never seen/heard/read any actual evidence of that ANYWHERE. Did everybody miss the line in Famous Last Words, 'I am not afraid to keep on living'? What about that sounds suicidal to you? This is coming from the band that said from the very beginning, they wanted to save kids lives. Suicide cult? I don't see it. One last example is Marilyn Manson. Now, I'm not a big Manson fan musically, but I do think he's funny as hell. He's been called the 'Antichrist' and all of that for burning bibles and things like that. No one seems to realize he does thing like that for a reaction from people, not because he's in league with Satan or whoever. He's also been very vocal about his love for the fans and encouraging them to keep going through life, even when it's hard. When he got blamed for Columbine, because the kids happened to listen to his music, his only response was that, it could have been stopped if someone had been paying attention and talking to those kids. People didn't expect an intelligent answer from a rock dude. It's all really kind of sad. There are so many people who blame music for their kids depression and things like that. There is no scientific proof of music causing depression. What causes depression? A shitty home life, bullying, any kind of abuse, PARENTS WHO DON'T CARE. Anyone of those things coupled with a chemical imbalance in the brain, causes depression. No doctor is going to tell a person that their depressions stems from the music they listen to. So blaming the artists for your kids depression or other mental illness, is completely pointless. Assuming they are stupid, uncaring, sexist, greedy, drug addicts, preying on kids, IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY POINTLESS!!!

Bandom kids need to take a giant chill pill,

We are not all defined by the actions of a few, and I'm sure that any celebrity can understand that. I hope that the wedding crashers and Ryan's "surprise house guests" are deeply ashamed and receive justice for their stupidity; especially the mother who felt it was alright to actually steal possessions (however meaningless they may have seemed) from someone's porch. Teenage fangirls can be idiots, but a mother encouraging and participating in it?! Either way, they're all guilty and they infuriate me. My point in all this, however, is that we're going to get nowhere as a fanbase by overwhelming the celebrities involved with tweets and messages about the situations.  I can only see that getting annoying. Calm down! You're all beautiful people who have made it possible for groups like Panic! and All Time Low to perform and sell the awesome music they've produced.

Sincerely, No One's Going To Read This, But I Had To Write Something Regarding The Situation Because I Was Beginning To Feel Left Out. (This is how I actually feel regarding the matter, though.)
