❝ you did not have to do this, you know? ❞ it was a rhetorical question, for two reasons: one, because she wished to fill the silence more than anything else ( such was in her nature ), and two: because she already knew that the other’s answer would be something pertaining to their insistence. still, she anticipated an answer regardless, though did not hope for an outcome any different to the one she had already envisioned.
she pressed the dampened towelette to her face, pressing gently and keeping her hand there only to ensure it would remain where it needed to be. fortunately Lovetz had not drawn blood this day, though she did have quite the bruise forming across her pale complexion. in that short time she had already revised her previous query internally. after taking a pause to sip at the drink her host had provided ( she showed her gratitude with a smile; as best as she could muster ), she spoke again:
❝ I mean to say: it was an argument; nothing more. I should not have provoked him as I did. it will be fine, once the pain dulls. ❞

“wow! you don’t scare easy. i love that. but that fucking stink eye you’re givin’ me? i can’t have that shit.”
@bandortalah “You’re getting cold,” he muttered against the space behind her ear, one hand raising and breaking contact with her only to drizzle more blood over her from the pail next to the tub. It, too, had already begun to cool with exposure to the air. Unfortunate, he grumbled. Human was too thin and light to facilitate a bath. “Poor choice.”
not a moment too soon does a hand raise from its previous place of lingering before parchment && take between pointer && thumb the bridge of his nose. the male emits a groan as eyes close && head bows ever so slightly. he hates to acknowledge it, often opts to work through it to the BEST of his ability, but he feels a bit of a headache coming on.
if only that could be surprising to those who knew him best. forgoing basic needs in order to have more time to mill over paperwork && yet another tome read many a time before, aymeric ?
typical.
his head throbs && only when the congregation is entered by yet another unfamiliar face ( what could you expect, when situated right aside the forgotten knight ? no one could be faulted for ending up here instead ) can pry his attention from the sensation.
❛ i do not suppose you’ve any business here ? pray forgive me if that is an incorrect assumption. ❜

‘ Sylvanas! ‘ Raised voice carried out the call of attention towards the leader of the Horde. It was Sylvanas herself whom had called the Death Knight here, to speak face to face after their paths had crossed before in the past. Perhaps it was the wonder that fluttered within her mind that had brought her here despite knowing that there was possible trouble awaiting her just for being present in a territory where her faction was not welcome. Glowing blue examined the room around her, the old throne room surrounded by ruin of a fallen city, large pointy ears twitching at the sound of foot steps echoing in the halls. The Under city was a place she knew very little of, the sight of it alone causing lips to form a frown at the assumptions her mind had processed but those were quick to subside when finally laying eyes on the woman she had been waiting for. ‘ When do you plan to tell me why it is you called me here, hmm? You were vague when our paths crossed last. ‘ Perhaps too vague...

Banshee. It’s not merely a word nor simply a concept, but a creature manifested of vile existence, a creature to fear in the long drag of night, curtailing heartbeats with a shriek. Or so he had been told, educated within the walls of Stormwind, away from the machinations of the Horde’s supposed divisive tactics – but he sees nothing of what he had been taught, nothing learned in the face of a woman who is but a rallying cry for an entire nations of people now.
War-chiefs came and went, some to better circumstances, some to graves. Nary different from the leaders of his people, nary different from anyone else, but Sylvannas – she remains constant, remains a bastion for the Forsaken and those that remain of the Horde.
And it’s a passing moment that he bares witness to her, a passing moment for her thumb to cross his cheek as he sits on the ground, injured ( hardly mortally ) from a scuffle with the Scarlet Crusade. He’s never been one for unnecessary zealotry and slaughter in the name of it and the defense of others in neutral territory is something all should uphold.
Yet she’s frigid in touch and he cannot help but wince, though her graze is nary a softer sensation. Carmine dapples on her thumb now, caking against the sallow swarth of flesh not covered in ebony armor.
He speaks, jaw working . So many ways this could possibly go and some may end with his head upon a pike ( -- if the legends of her were true ).
❛ -- Forsaken or not, no one deserves to be massacred. Especially not the helpless. The Scarlet Crusade had been foolish to take their grudge to the Plaguelands and on a caravan of travelers no less. And I mean no ill to them either, my lady. ❜

🗡。・:*:・゚ What a smile indeed. The wicked curve of her lips only grew larger, more defined, as she twisted and pushed the blade deeper into her enemy. Sylvanas was proud, much more proud than was good for her. She’d underestimated her, allowed her to get too close, and now… “Even you can die, Sylvanas.” Came the words from her lips, yanking her serrated blade from the wound, watching the dark blood seep from it. “And you had to know that we would come for you, after what you’ve done.”
