tom and charlie’s wuthering heights is on pbs and of course i can’t resist watching it because it’s my fav

(the ralph fiennes/juliette binoche version was my fav until i saw this one in 2012, and many more times since)

tom’s heathcliff has so much bane in him too. i love it. 

the part where cathy comes back from the lintons’ after several months away, and heathcliff rejects the way she’s changed and become more “refined” falls directly in line with my headcanons for bane and talia’s early years, because presumably at some point ra’s separated them to send talia off to some fancy school in switzerland where she can learn to be a lady. when she comes back, bane is probably angry she’s got long hair and makeup for god’s sake, and who are you and how many men have you been with etc etc

the biggest plot twist of course is if there was nothing going on between bane and talia at all

they were just both fucking barsad

but neither one knew about the other

and in the end, talia walked away with barsad

and bane was just

okay maybe they were the kind of tears you get when you slam your nose into something

but when she said goodbye he was utterly heartbroken

he's not worried about her being able to handle the last few minutes of the mission

he's devastated that the only person he has ever truly loved, and the only person he would die for, just walked away

i really think talia was so blinded by vengeance for her father at the end, that while she definitely cared about bane very much, her only real desire was to ensure the bomb went off in gotham

man.

all i gotta say, i hope they fucked when bane had barsad bring her to him in crane's court
