Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz
🫧☮️🍻🛼🍬✨🌈🌏✌️💘
This album and entire era was overlooked because Miley was going through it. What fascinates me is when people act surprised when a now-grown child star publicly struggles or tries to change their image!
Miley was going througgghhh it and she releases an incredibly raw and dreamy synth pop album laying it all out there. The song “space bootz” reads as almost a soliloquy- just some words of painful candor. Seems like a dramatic analysis of a song about a ‘space dude’ but I find it incredibly hard to write a song like this. It can be difficult to put lyrics so blatant and literal without sounding contrived, corny, or even annoying. The album feels so genuine that I think if more people listened to it at the time this was all going down maybe they would’ve shrugged off her twerking on Robin Thicke. Like it’s okay he’s not Alan Thicke.
I digress..
This is a heartbreak album. Strap on yr space suit 👩🚀
