Why?

Again, I will ask simply, why? Why in this day and age do people still hail the j-frame revolver as the penultimate carry gun for new shooters and women in particular? Let's give up concealability, capacity, usable sights, quick reloads, anything resembling for ergonomics for what fucking gain exactly? Because your great grandmother can't run the slide on anything more modern even though there's companies literally building guns with light slides and recoil springs for exactly that market? If you recommend a .357 j-frame to a new shooter or anyone really, you should take a step back, contemplate the poor life decisions that lead you to that moment, and go fucking haze yourself.

Last night we were fortunate enough to be invited to the Faxon Firearms range night to demonstrate our rifles for some of the top media outlets in the industy. The night could not have been better. There was a ton of media and and probabley a ton of lead went down range. It totally made my night when a shot we would try one of our firearms and would then turn around with a huge grin. So, i am taking my first foray into the world of polymer pistols. I now have a S&W Shield in 9mm on layaway. This is a pile of firsts for me. It will be my first 9mm, my first polymer frame, and my first non-duty sized gun. I’m a big guy at 6’6” and 250 pounds so a full size gun has never been an issue to conceal, but at the same time i don’t want to have to put on a whole utility belt for my 1911 and 10pm to run to the gas station and back. Let’s see how i handle small guns.
