The car ride was slow, tantalizing so. Luckily, the driver hadn't looked at you once in the hour but he didn't give off any weird vibes to begin with. The only thing that was really irking you was the soft noise in the background. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, literally playing on loop. And the further you observed the driver the more you found out that he genuinely enjoyed the song this much.
But you weren't about to say anything, that'd be rude. Plus there's no room for you to judge. Your apartment came into view not much longer after that, the familiar beat of the song starting back up as you hurriedly grabbed your belongings.
You hardly had a moment to open the door and flee before the man was stopping you and turning down the volume of the music. "So you're the new one, huh?" You looked at him curiously and he huffed back. "You're the Winchester's new arrangement?" You shook your head a little, appalled that he went out of his way to be nosey. "Excuse me, and who are you? What's your name?"
He chuckled reaching between the partition and offering you a hand. "I'm Bobby Singer and I'm sure I'll be your driver from now on." He seemed to spit out his profession with malice. You reluctantly took his outstretched palm and shook it firmly. Your brows furrowing not much longer after your skin separated from his, and you open your mouth to leave a question.
"Then yes I guess I am the new one, how many arrangements have they had before?" Maybe you could get some information out of this guy, he seems to be apart of their everyday life. His face scrunched up with amusement and another breath of laughter left his lips. "You're expecting me to have been keeping count girlie?"
His head shakes and then he stares before him, "One thing I do remember," his eyes travel to the rearview mirror and they bore into yours with something heavy behind them. "Their last arrangement didn't end well." Bobby's hands runs down his face and he quickly jumps from his seat. That emotion in his eyes, it made you curious.
You'd probably remember it for a long time. Not but a few seconds later he opens your door and you jolt, questions filling up your brain so much they could leak from your ears. You step out and you inquire him one last time. "What happened?" He gazes at you with an intense warning, "Honey it's not really your business." He's quick to grab your upper arm firmly, leaning in close to your ear. "Nothing I said was your business, so keep it between us you hear?"
After that you watched as he hopped back in the driver's seat and sped away. You were lost in your thoughts as you made your way up the staircase, so lost in fact you hadn't heard the arguing in the apartment. As you opened the door however all conversation ceased and both pairs of eyes landed on you. "Y/n?" Dimitri said confused. "I-I wasn't expecting you back tonight."
It didn't take a genius to know that Dimitri had connections to the Winchesters. And you had to be an idiot if you thought that Dimitri liked the Winchesters. It was very clear he had a past with them.
"Well I'm here, why did you guys look so worried back at the cabin?" You get straight to the point. You've been learning a lot about these peculiar men, and you've only just started. "They're just a couple of men that I used to run a business with." Your eyebrow peaked in interest. "Oh really what kind?" You spoke. Though hoping to look nonchalant, you started unwinding after your night out. Setting your purse down, placing your keys in the proper places, ect.
He didn't have an answer for you. A half assed blowing off your question with a sound that's between and huff and a chuckle. His hand had even came out to the front of him, as if swiping your question off of his plate in distaste. "All you need to know is it made me a lot of money, but the Winchesters and I don't partner up like that anymore. We don't need to." He had a cocky grin on his face but you couldn't catch his eyes. There had to be something more to it than that.
Not to mention the disappointed and confused expressions on Carmen's face. "Anyways it's a long drive home I better get started, bye beautiful." He reached over to stroke your roommates chin with an air kiss before he maneuvered around you.
As the front door slammed and he floored his car down the street your apartment was silent. "You could feel my urgency tonight right? When we were telling you to leave with us." You just barely nodded bending down to take off your heels, placing the mask that once laid lazily across your neck not but seconds ago, on the kitchen counter.
"Then why didn't you walk away." He was looking at you like he was waiting for you to put the last piece of the puzzle into the picture. "I was just giving this whole sugar daddy dating thing, a real try." You paused shrugging. Although mentally you were praising yourself, that was probably a good enough lie for him to lay off a little.
"I just wasn't done yet, plus I saw them at the dress shop earlier and th-they were pretty hot." You tried not to blush but your body betrayed you, yet the little bit of truth you threw into the lie made Carmen scoff. "Fine." He paused with a pout, "Did you end up getting their number?" His excitement bubbled through the surface eventually and you smiled with a nod.
After a moment he shrugged, "I'm only worried because Dimitri is. It's not like him to act that way." You pondered up at Carmen with a frown. "It has something to do with those guys, but I hope its nothing cause you gotta get your bag." The two of you laughed lightly and went on your separate ways.
Your brows were furrowed as you were pulling your sheets from around the matress corners. The fact that they had left it up to you to call them, it was on your mind and making you nervous. You definitely wouldn't call tomorrow. That would be too soon.
You flopped on your bed with a heavy sigh, hopefully you didn't get yourself into something you wouldn't be able to get out of. You carded your fingers through your hair as you thought, tomorrow you needed to look up Dimitri, they obviously had more going on than what he had said.

It was an odd thing when memory and rumor mixed, when the rumor defies everything you remember but what you remember becomes distorted just enough that with time, you start to believe it, you think that maybe it was you that wanted to see the good in the situation, that it was you who had almost fallen down the rabbit hole and that you were saved by the ones who had unknowingly distorted your thoughts in the first place.
As you were walking down this road, tormented by what you thought you believed, guilt weighing you down with each step as you thought you were betraying your family, your father by even entertaining this thought, this notion but you were nothing if not curious, hopeful. It was how you were made, or was it your flaw, you could not tell as you walked down the halls of hell.
You had expected to have seen more resistance, or at least more bodies, and though the screams echoed in the background, the absence of movement set you on edge. Every move reverberated back to you as your vessel's feet made contact with the ground, moving you swiftly to what most likely was your own undoing.
It had been eons since the fall and now years since you had heard of his release and even that you were certain Michael had been holding that information from you for as long as he could, protection one could dress it as but nonetheless, it didn't add up. Why now, after everything. He wanted something, something sinister. Michael had warned you of this very moment, of what he had became, warned you to stay away years ago and you did but now, when he called, you just had to know for sure, had to see it for yourself. Had to find out the reason from the source, see if its true and watch all hope you had disappear from his eyes.
Entering the room that held him, the scene had took away your breath . You hadn't been prepared for this as you had thought. Every emotion buried deep forced itself to the top as you looked into those eyes, even with this vessel he was still the most beautiful thing you had ever laid eyes upon. He still stole your breath in the silence, still held you frozen and fascinated. He was still him, at least by all physical means. I was almost like time hadn't even passed but you knew it to be true even if you would've wished it differently.
He held that smug smirk that brought you to your knees every time, lounging on the throne of hell with little care as he took you in, uncaring and unashamed as his eyes traveled to every curve and even though the act held some part of who he had been, the manner in which he did, indicated a shift in his being which had you shifting uncomfortably in the spot you stood.
He knew you'd come, even with all that had transpired, you wouldn't resist but he too had not been properly prepared seeing you again though he'd never let you know. His heart beat a little faster as his eyes took you in, the only being that could have him voluntarily at his knees and you didn't even know, you could never really see it and a part of him found it endearing, your naivety, innocence.
"(Y/n)." He spoke, the word alone waking every atom in your body as his voice washed over you after eons, after the last time you heard it, it was screamed at you in such agony that you thought your own body would tear at the seams at the conflict you had felt within. "What brings an angel like you to a place like this."
He twirled his thumbs, the smirk deepening. He had thought it was funny but the reference had been missed completely by you, but perhaps it had been for the best.
"You called me." You frowned, for a moment wondering if you had it all wrong but came to the same conclusion, it had indeed been him, no doubt about it. He had called and you had came.
"Indeed." Lucifer sighed, silence momentarily cloaking you both as you noticed for the first time, the details that go beyond him. It was dark and seemed unkempt, all an illusion that one so easily missed the intricacies layer on each wall, each piece of furniture in the room, it told stories not only of the things it depicted but of Lucifer as well.
"Why did you." You asked softly, your eyes falling on him again, questioning.
"Why wouldn't I?" He shot back, not quite ready to tell you why he did what he did, not before he knew for certain you would not betray him like the others had. If you had been anyone else, he wouldn't have bothered, perhaps even killed for sport but you weren't just anyone else, you held his fascination and the last of his hope and compassion. You were the last thread he held onto from his previous being, the thing that had kept his mind intact within the cage but he couldn't tell you that, even if you were on his side. You couldn't know the power you held over him, not after everything was ripped away from him once before.
"It's been years." You stated dryly, moving around the room to see the carvings in the walls better. You rubbed your arm nervously as you were acutely aware of his eyes on you, analyzing your every move as you had done to him but furthermore, this room was an extension of him and what he had became and you were drawn to it, you needed to know. Craved it even, in all your being you wished to not be on opposite sides of the chessboard and if there was still hope of peace you would take it. You needed a sign that he was still the angel you remembered, the good parts you remembered.
"Why now." You asked, turning to find he had followed you to where you had walked, a little too close for comfort knowing what he was capable of and not having the certainty you used to have that he wouldn't use it on you and furthermore, he had managed to move without you noticing, catching you off guard.
"Would you have come if I asked you the moment I got out." Lucifer asked, his smirk falling as he looked down at you, hand coming to rest against your cheek. The act was almost vulnerable as he looked down at you, it had been so log and you seemingly remained the same except for the fact that you thought he was capable of harming you which he doubted he even had the capacity to but perhaps it was for the best, you would not betray him that easily. "Would Michael have let you out of his sight."
You could hear the bitterness in his voice as he spoke the last few words and could feel the chill seeping into your skin from his but just as his words could bring you to your knees, his touch crippled you. You knew this was the moment, you should break the contact and be the angel you were bred to be. Strong, a warrior but you could not, he had a hold over you, one that you didn't want to break. Instead you leaned into the touch while your body screamed of your betrayal but at the same time ached with a longing you had buried deep within you all this time.
"This is wrong." You finally spoke, the words clawing at your skin. You could just imagine his reaction from your words but you had to do something. "You fell and-"
"I know what I did." Lucifer spoke, his voice clear and ultimate as he interrupted . "I would not see it come to pass what father had planned. I would not let you-" Lucifer clenched his jaw and took a breath, claiming a softer tone. "I would not bow down to those inferior creatures. That is what's wrong."
Lucifer retracted, hand running through his hair as he sighed, turning away from you. "But never mind that." He said softly, turning back to face you." It's not why I called you here."
"Why did you call me here?" You asked, voice slightly breaking away the further you ventured into the sentence, apprehension starting to settle but you couldn't exactly pin point the reason, you had an idea that he wouldn't actually hurt you, not really.
"I wanted to see you." He stated simply. "Curiosity perhaps, I thought you'd be more... opposed. I expected you to be." A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips but he refused to commit to it. "You're mostly the same as I remember. Beautiful, kind.. you're not pushing me away."He admitted.
You looked at him for a moment, no words would come to you. What could you say in any way, that he held you higher than he should, that you could've done more but were scared, that you weren't the same naive angel he remembered. He was seeing what he wanted to see or did he always see what you were and not what you were told to be.
"Luce.." the word hung in the air, nothing would follow and suddenly you needed to tell him you were sorry, all the years locked down in that cage and you were at Michael's side as a glorified ornament. A symbol that Lucifer had indeed fallen, that those closest to him had abandoned him and he could not be saved.
"Just tell me it doesn't feel like it used to, tell me your feelings have changed and we can go our separate ways, you can have your apocalypse, Michael can have his fight. I won't oppose."
"Lucifer, things changed, we changed. " You stated softly, watching as the broken expression cloaked his features and you wished you'd rather just tell him that you still cared instead of using these words. "But I'd be lying if I said the things I feel for you were negative, I don't think the could ever be. You know what we are to each other, perhaps it was a mistake on father's part but I will always come when you call. You should know that."
A spark lit behind Lucifer's eyes as the words spilled from your lips taking a step forward, his hand trailing over your cheek once again. His eyes followed the lines of your face, studying just to make sure you were as he remembered, when he was satisfied with the conclusion his head slowly dipped to yours, placing a soft kiss to your lips. It was slow and his hand hung loosely on your cheek, ample opportunity for you to pull away but you didn't, you wouldn't, couldn't.
His touch was chilling and it was bruising at the same time, intoxicating with no cure. You had craved it, imagined it but it seemed with time your mind had reduced it, but now with him in your grasp with his lips starting to move against yours it was coming at you full force and your hands fisted in the front of his shirt, holding him close to you, never wanting to let go of him again. You had lost him once and that was one too many.
His hands rested on your hips, pulling you flush against him as your arms hooked around his neck automatically, as one you were so used to being. You moved against each other, oblivious to the world outside as your movements became more desperate, hungry. Holding onto each other, knowing each moment was fleeting and you were both betraying something while saving the thing you had lost long ago.
His hand slowly trailed up your back, sinking into the feathers of your wings close to the base, he chuckled softly as you gasped, back arching involuntarily into him. You were torn between wanting to scold him for the surprise or beg him unashamedly for more, anything to give you that rush, to feel what you could only remember in your dreams, his touch.
His lips curled into a smirk as his head dipped down to the hollow of your neck, no doubt feeling the movement as you swallowed hard in anticipation. he trailed his lips to the crook of your neck and bit down softly. "Tun around." He ordered, letting you know he wasn't planning on depriving you of what you seeked.
You did as he asked, biting your lip as you spread out your wings, fingers curling around the back of the throne as you braced yourself. It hadn't been the reconciliation you had expected, not even the fight you had expected but he always did have a way of burning your expectations. It was almost haunting how his touch was crippling, anything he would ask you would give, his words made you eager to please and having him in your immediate surroundings made you feel always content, a tranquil haze that no one else could supply and it wasn't like you hadn't tried moving on from the feelings he awoke, from the fire he stoked but once you stood in the fire, everything else felt like a lowly breeze compared to the sun.
He gently removed your shirt, his hands travelling over your lower back, barely touching until they reach where your wings attached to your back and he stopped, moving further away from the base he trailed his fingers softly over the bone and you bit into your lower lip, eyes closing momentarily as his fingers dug between the feathers, occasionally tugging as they moved closer to the base. You bit your lip hard enough to draw blood but still it couldn't stop your moaning from reaching his ears and neither could it stop your body from quivering under his touch.
He then pressed his body against yours, placing a soft kiss to the back of your neck before tugging at your earlobe. "(Y/n)"he purred, hands reching deeper into the feathers and tugging harshly eliciting a cry. "You know I don't approve of that, I want to your tose beautiful sounds you make. "
You clenched your eyes shut as your let go of your lip at his request, moans spilling out uncontrollably, knuckles turning white from the bruising grip you had on the throne. "Luce, i- I can't." You managed to get out between the gasps, feeling your body falling apart under his touch.
Had you turned around you would have seen the smirk spill over his lips. "Shh.." Lucifer murmured softly, releasing one hand from your wings to slip it into the front of your pants. "Let me take care of you, (Y/n)."
His fingers slipped through your folds, murmuring about how wet you were for him as his hips rocked against your rhythmically, taking his time to reacquaint himself with your body, he barely had inserted a second finger, pumping into you deliciously, before you came over his fingers with a cry.
"That's it." Lucifer praised, placing a chaste kiss to your shoulder. "That's a good girl."
He pulled his fingers from you, licking his digits clean and you were thankful for his hand still on you, unsure if you wouldn't crumple into a puddle after centuries of deprivation from him.
***He turned you around, placing a kiss on your lips that was all teeth and tongue. You could taste yourself on him but you didn't mind, hands hooking at the back of his neck once again and pulling yourself closer to him. You already craved more, you wanted more and you wanted him to give it to you. You wanted to scream, you wanted to cry out his name. You wanted to stop wondering what if you fell with him. You wanted to feel him presses up against your bare skin, wanted to hear him cry out your name and you wanted to see him smile again, wanted to see him happy, you're wanted your Lucifer back even if it was in this moment, away from everyone. You wanted to kiss him until he forgot the horror of the cage, hold him until he remembered what it was to love unapologetically. You just wanted him back.
Your hands trailed over his chest, one reaching behind his back to run your fingers through his own feathers but he abruptly pulled away, your wrist firmly in his grip. "Don't do something you can't take back, (Y/n)." The tone of his voice was warning but more than that he wanted to push, make sure you knew what you were deciding by going forth, there was no turning back after this point, after the affirmation that came with the decision, not just for you and him but it changed things for everyone. The angels, the demons, the humans. Everyone was effected and was this a selfish decision that you had made, a rash decision.
You swallowed as you looked into those crimson eyes as they broke through the veil of the vessel, for a moment it became clear how much you missed them, this simple thing. His eyes, it became clear how much of it you had been pushing down, avoiding the feeling that came with thoughts of him. He was everything you wanted, craved.
"This isn't the thing I'd regret." You stated, pulling your hand from his grasp to tug at one of his wings. Lucifer groaned, his hold tightening on you as you noticed his jaw clenched. Just as you, he had been deprived and for eons trapped in that cage, you were the only thing he thought about after the initial rage simmered and he was left to wonder what if he had been wrong, but at least you hadn't served the same fate as him, you were safe.
"Are you sure about that?" He asked looking down at you. You bit your lip , knowing that he was tethering on the edge of control, that any moment it could all shatter and you could experience what your body and soul has been lacking, a simple act to let the fire within you rage and start spilling over, a moments notice from having him expertly play with you until you snapped, contently in his grip.
"Yes." You spoke your final consent, watching the grin spread over his lips before he crashed them upon your own, lifting you up effortlessly by the thighs and walking a few paces before effectively throwing you on a bed. Your body bounced slightly as you made contact, a gasp leaving your lips. You noticed you weren't in the throne room anymore though the decor was mostly the same, spare for the bed you now laid upon.
Lucifer swiftly removed his shirt before climbing up your body, caging you between his arms. "Never thought I'd see you again." He murmured, placing open mouthed kisses to your collar bone and neck. "Much less like this." He kiss his way down your body, hands squeezing your breast as he moved past them, until he reached the hem of your pants. His fingers hooked around the waistband and pulled both the pants and your underwear off in one swift move.
You blushed as he look down at you, licking his lips as he thought of all the things he could do to you, which ones will make you scream and which would drive you incoherent and speechless. He was nothing if not calculated.
He made eye contact with you, his eyes sparkling as a smile spread on his lips, his head bending down , his eyes never breaking from your as he licked one long stripe through your folds with his forked tongue. Your body jerked at first contact, his touch cold against your flushed skin. He held you down by your hips as he started his assault, tongue circling your clit and then entering you as much as he could and back to you clit again. It wasn't enough to cause an orgasm but it was enough to drive you insane. It was so close to what you wanted, needed, you could already taste it but he wouldn't relent just yet, he liked to see you writhe and eons of absence had enlarged his appetite it seemed.
Your hand weaved through his hair, fisting the locks as you pleaded with him with the only words that would enter your mind. Lucifer. You had sent the prayer to him unbeknownst, sharing the same wavelength, both minds connected as one as he heard the thing he had been craving for so long, your voice in his head. Feeling your grace as you spoke to him, it soothing over him.
Lucifer pulled away slightly, replacing his tongue with his fingers, pumping them into you in a rapid pace. for a moment he watched you reacting to his touch, never had he thought he could miss something as much as he had missed seeing you, hearing you and t was as if having you had intensified the pain your absence had brought.
"You want to come for me?" He asked, thumb circling your clit and you came undone, back arching off the bed as a cry of his name reverberated from the walls. His fingers still slowly pumped into you as you came down from the high, body covered in a thin layer of perspiration as your chest rose and fell rapidly.
He pulled his fingers to his lips and licked his digits clean of your juices and snapped his fingers, removing both of you of any clothing you had possessed. He took his member in his hand and pumped a few times before lining up to your entrance, pushing into you in one hard thrust, eliciting a cry from you. He softly kissed down your neck and shoulder, whispering praises and words of encouragement as you got accustomed d to his size.
Your hands softly trailed over his shoulders and back, hands running through his hair occasionally as you looked up at him.
Lucifer groaned, his hands clenching around your hips as his eyes roamed your body, looking past the exterior and gazing at the creature hiding within, seeing you. The real you, a blazing halo and a body fighting against the vessel containing it. You still were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen to him.
Lucifer began to slowly rock his hips into you, his grace reaching out to you, flowing over your skin as it seeked your signature, his mate. He bent down, hands tracing up your body and giving your breasts a quick squeeze before he spoke. "Show them to me." He said softly, his fingertips trailing softly over your upper arm as his lips placed a chaste kiss to your collarbone.
Your hands smoothed over his back as he rocked into you, not exactly deep but pleasurable all the same, it was soft and it was slow but it gave you a glimpse as to what he felt, the longing and contentment.
You didn't have to think about what he meant, not after feeling his grace smooth over the body, especially after he had already played with you moments before, the only part of you that wasn't hidden in the mask of the human you had acquired.
You let your wings unfurl from your back, spreading across the room as you bit your lip, looking up at the fallen angel who did the same and for a moment you were taken back by the burnt edges and smoldering that you thought you had prepared yourself for. You knew they had taken damage but in the moment you had touch him before, it couldn't have really shown you how much. They were discolored and fallen into disarray but somehow they were still beautiful, telling the story of what he had been through.
Lucifer spread his own six wings, laying the top pair to lay on top of yours, the feathers intertwining and causing you both to gasp for breath in the process, the other wings effectively caging you in under him, making you feel protected and it dawned on you that you had been fighting everyone off and in that moment, you gave into him and held onto him like he was the only thing in the world.
"Fuck, I missed you." Lucifer breathed, hips snapping into you more attentively while his wings moved against yours, grace mixing with each other as the bond grew with each sensation. Your nails dug into his back as he moved, legs hooking at his back and heels digging into his ass to encourage him to go deeper.
"Luce.." you breathed, hips bucking against him.
"I know sweetheart." He murmured against the skin of your neck. "I'll take care of you. I promised. "
The words were spoken mere moments before he took hold of your hips once more and snapping his own into you with a force that would've broken your vessel's body had you not been inhabiting it. You cried out at the sudden action, holding on to his shoulders as he repeated the action again, and again, and again.
You felt the release coming on at a rapid pace, trying your best to fight it off as long as you can but with Lucifer pounding into you, hitting the spot deep inside you head-on and his wings intertwined with your own, it was a losing battle. You cried out his name as you came, no time to even warn him before your walls clenched down on him, wings flailing uncontrollably which he held down as his hips still entered you time and time again as you swam through an orgasm that felt like it would never end and when it did, you wanted it back, you wanted him to never stop but knowing you could not survive another without serious bodily harm to your vessel.
Lucifer's thrusts became erratic, out of rhythm and his hold tightening before stilling with one last sharp thrust, crying out your name as pulse after pulse of his warm seed filled you.
Your legs fell from his body, only jello as you tried to gain control but not really caring whether you ever did as his lips found yours, every emotion he had kept since he last saw you crammed into one simple kiss as he untangled his wings from yours careful to not hurt you, his grace retracting from yours as well and then you were left feeling like yourself again, only yourself and it left you feeling a little lost and alone. You didn't know what was going to happen, you didn't want to lose him again, you didn't want to be without him again. His smile, his eyes, his grace was the only thing that made you feel whole and if you had to be separated from it again, you might actually prefer death over that.
Lucifer ran his fingers through your hair, smiling softly before pulling himself from you fully and collapsing beside you on the bed, glancing at your perspirated and rapidly breathing figure before he moved closer, wrapping an arm around you and pulling you closer.
He placed a chaste kiss to the top of your head before he spoke, his voice a mere whisper that you could've easily missed. "Don't go back... I need you here."
You looked up at him, you didn't want to leave him, you never did but your father and Michael decreed it so. Lucifer was made the villain and any who opposed would share the same fate but now father was missing and with only Michael against them, you didn't have to fear as much as before. This path had two outcomes, either you lose a brother or your lover and friend.

"Do you love me?" You asked for the third time, watching the same reaction play over his face. First there was annoyance: his jaw would clench and his eyes would shut, a deep breath would reign over his lungs. Then his body would relax and he'd look over at you. You would usually be laying down in a plush blanket, pulled tightly around your body as you eagerly awaited his response. "Do I love you?" He asked, his expression now hurt and maybe a bit upset.
You'd nod and confirm the question, the doubt now swelling up inside your chest. This anxiety would last even after his answer, "Of course I do, babydoll." Because you wouldn't believe him.
"Do you love me?" He'd always ask you in return. He watches you as you give your response, just like you do him. First comes a smile, because the blue in his eyes sparkle when you do that. "Nope." And he'd chuckle amused by your brattiness, because he knew. He knew you loved him. How could he not?
You missed your time with him like that, now everything was red. Your hands, your clothes most of the time. You haven't slept well since those times ended, haven't felt the level of happiness you felt back then. "Hey Y/n." Said Sam across from you, his face buried in a book and locks of hair falling into his eyes. You'd tilt your head and you'd question him with your silence. "Do you love me?" It was always in front of others when he asked. You were sure that it wasn't on purpose, but you'd noticed it.
You would usually clench your jaw and close your eyes, ignoring the glances you'd get from his older brother. Not once had Sam looked up from his research to see your reactions. "Of course I do, Sam." You didn't always ask back, but when you did his reply wasn't always the same like Lucifers. "Do you- really love me?" You didn't want to know the answer, it'd make your stomach sick with guilt and your chest burst with anger. "Always." That one was his new favorite.
You wondered if he had known about Lucifer and you, would he still say that? "I got one, you freaks." Dean said in the background, your pale face training your eyes on anything other than the younger Winchester. "W-what is it?" You cleared your throat, listening to the case Dean laid out in front of you. "Utah, Salt Lake- I think it may be a shifter." Sam's eyebrows rose in surprise.
"We haven't seen a shape shifter in a while, thats-" Dean nodded, his hand running down his face as he stood. Cutting off his brother, he agreed. "Yeah I think it's a little odd too." All you could do was nod, there had been barely any attacks from things other than Demons and Angels. It seemed like that was all you fought lately.
The recent news was Micheal and Lucifers battle, with a God that's been nowhere since it all started. You've learned alot about your first love these past couple of years. You couldn't help but be excited that one case you might see Lucifer, even if that meant terminating your relationship with Sam. You tried your hardest to hide how easy it would be to leave the youngest Winchester, but you couldn't lie to yourself anymore.
"Y/n you okay?" Asked your boyfriend as he passed you. Your silence was usually enough for him, so when you nodded he left to start packing. Dean stood at the head of the table and you stood along with him. "Do you even like Sam?" You didn't mean to meet his eyes, though you had and you choked for a moment. "Yes." It wasn't a lie, not by a long shot.
You loved Sam, right? Because Sam was everything you weren't and that was just what you needed. He just wasn't your Lucifer, he wasn't someone who left you or kept you hidden possessively. You keep thinking it was the raw emotional baggage that connected you and the Devil so intimately, nothing could compare and it haunted you. Maybe you needed to stop thinking so much.
"Well you're doing a bang up job of showing it." Your chest sunk at the gravely voice, your chair screeching back to beneath the table as a sign to wrap up the conversation. Though just as you took a step away from the intense atmosphere he spoke again. "Do you love him?" It was quiet, the way he asked. Like your answer would hurt him more than it'd hurt Sammy. You gulped then, your breath ragged and your mind just- blank. "Im sorry." You all but ran to your room then, watching Sam fold his and your clothes together.
"Hey I'm getting your stuff ready so all you have to do is get some road snacks." You were more unspoken today than any other day. Sam hadn't noticed, but he never did. "I know you like to figure out what we eat so I told Dean to leave it to you." He turned around and smiled at you after he spoke. A gulp ran down your throat, he was being good to you. He was a good man. Why cant you love him like you do Lucifer.
Your brows furrowed and you wrapped your arms around Sam's waist. You buried your head in his chest and he let his body fold around you. "Are you okay? Your not usually that big of a hugger." He was right, you limited yours and his connection that way. Very much on purpose. You used to be so touchy with Lucifer, you'd always want his skin on yours.
When you pulled away you thought a little more on why you really chose Sam. Was it because he had the littlest of connections to Lucifer? He was his vessel after all. You rolled your eyes to yourself, you needed to snap out of it and get on with this case. "Y/n/n, what's wrong?" He demanded this time, the courage you pleaded for as you finally looked at Sam arose, and you tiptoed to kiss his chin. "I just love you."
The words were hard to swallow, the lie twisted in your gut and almost came back up. You prayed that if you said it enough it would be enough. You hated yourself but as long as Sam was happy, you were gonna be just fine. The ride to Utah was long and boring. ACDC stuck in your head from the three earlier cassettes.
The thought that this case had something to do with Lucifer, started to scare you. Would he want you back? He kind of just disappeared on you. Maybe he never really loved you, maybe you didn't need him back in your life if leaving you was so easy. You took a deep breath the actual possiblity this could have anything to do with the Devil was slim. Though you wouldn't put it past your ex lover to use something as small as a shifter to do dirty work. That's how the two of you spent so much time together. The thought almost made you smile.
The three of you pulled up to Utah finally. You stepped out to stretch your limbs, watching Sam look you up and down. You grinned, lust was something you could handle far better than love. You were accustomed to it, hell you believed you were built for it.
You strolled towards him running your hands down his chest before grabbing his chin with your pointer finger and thumb. You tilted his head down towards you and ran your hand to his ass, grabbing his wallet and waving it infront of his face. "I'll go pay for the room then?" He chuckled with a light blush on his face, the symphony of throw up noises in the background making you giggle all the more as you walked towards the lobby.
When you stepped through the door your hair stood up on the back of your neck, the guy at the desk had intense eyes and they were all over you. They were bright green, yet a little darker than Dean's. They seemed to want information and you walked over with as unapproachable of a face as possible. The man didn't seem to get the hint and smiled wide when you presented Sam's credit card. "Me, my husband and his brother are hunting around here. Need a two bed room."
At the mentions of others traveling with you his curiosity seemed to peak. You could have sworn you saw a flash of crimson behind his eyes but dismissed it. "What do you guys hunt round here?" His tone was off and your anxiety had taken over. You had to say an animal but what animal was usually around here? Panicking you said the first thing on your mind. "Alligators lately." You say without thinking and the local chuckles. "We don't have much alligators, so what are you really doing here?" He finally handed the card back to you, albeit slowly.
You gave him another nerved look, who was this guy? He seemed strangely familiar. "I don't think its any of you business Mister." He leaned across the desk and folded his hands together, "Well you know little darlin, I didn't think youd still have such a fight in you." Your eyes widened and you yanked the key from the oak desk, not meeting the creeps eyes for more than a slit second. Trying to forget the awkward encounter you rushed over to the impala to grab the rest of the bags.
The three of you got set up in your room, laptops on chargers and on pages that read lists on lists of police reports. Sam's nose was deep into the screen and Dean had gone out for some burgers. You had changed into a silky night gown, you wanted Sam to notice your change but he seemed busy. So you decided to busy yourself you picked up the bible from your nightstand, the spine faded and torn. You flipped to a random page and began to read.
Though somewhere along the way the message changed and the wording became a little more modern. 'your here?' It read, 'and with them?' you quickly slammed the book shut and squeezed your eyes closed. You needed sleep. You were obviously hallucinating, or so you prayed. The noise had caught the younger Winchesters attention and he strutted over to you, flopping on the other side of the bed and grabbing hold of your thigh. He pulled you down next to him and brushed some of you hair behind your ear.
You relaxed within his hold needing a little bit of comfort after the crazy events of today and a feeling of guilt washed over you. You looked up at Sam's eyes, they were glowing and reflecting off of the walls, the bed sheets, your flesh. Everything was red. You pulled back from him in fear, though his arms wove tighter around your waist. "Lucifer?" You asked but there was no answer. You tried again to escape from his hold, to scream out for Dean to save you both.
"Your with little Sammy now?" His voice sounded hurt and your face contorted into an expression of pain. "He's good to me, he won't leave me like you." It came out soft and unsure, the features on Sam's face turned into anger and his hand came up to grab your neck.
You shot up from your bed sweat falling from your forehead in buckets, you were starting to think Lucifer had come looking for you. Had he set this all up? You frantically looked around in the dark for Sam, finding only a note on the bedside. "Found a lead, didn't want to wake you. Should be back by morning." You searched for your phone, your hands shaking as you turned the bed side light on and off. Though it wouldn't work, you were afraid although not necessarily for yourself. You just needed to talk to Sam, make sure he was okay.
A voice rang out then, almost as if from nowhere. One all too familiar. "Who knew it would be so hard to get some one on one time with you." Goosebumps spread across your body and a warmth flooded your chest. "Lucifer." It was stated in fear and the room went colder at your voice. "Y/n."
Before he could say something else, while his body was surrounded by the darkness of the kitchen, you blurted out a saddened question. "Why'd you leave me? I missed you, I pleaded for you. But you just disappeared." It felt as if you had to beg. Headlights came from the window of the hotel room, and your heart sped up they couldn't see you talking to the Devil. "I can tell you all about it babydoll. But right now you have choice," Lucifer said slightly rushed, a tinge of fear in his voice. "Why would I choose you when I could be left again? Did you know I was hunted like an animal before I met Sam and Dean." His features held a genuine emotion, one that said he was sorry.
Yet he didn't speak the words, why wouldn't he just say he was sorry. "You need to choose Y/n/n." Keys jingled in the door for a moment bickering from behind it muffled. They didn't sound like they were actually mad at each other just, doing the back and forth like brothers do. "She's probably still asleep anyways so I'll surprise her with it in the morning."
The room was dark when they walked in, silence enveloping them like a wave of water. Sam set a white paper bag with some sort of burger logo on the table and shh'ed his brother when he groaned. "There's something off about her Sam I just haven't figured out what yet, I wish you would just slow down."
He went to turn on the light beside the bed you had previously laid upon, though before doing so rolled his eyes and dismissed his brother, when the light spread the youngest Winchester saw there was a note. Not the one he left and definitely not one in your hand writing. 'Snooze you lose, Sammy'.
