They are illegal in most states, smell like skunk and cat pee, need lined top and bottom enclosures, specialized vets, expensive food with a raw diet, and like all exotics are nearly always impossible to rehome. Banjo is a prime example of this; from being rescued from the idiot kid who originally had him, to me donating him and doing what was best for him, to now where he is again in a safe environment. No, in general foxes do not like to cuddle or be held at all or very often. They are not domestic in the same way cats or dogs are, they are more so tame and learn to tolerate people. Even the Russian ones are not exactly like dogs. Domestic house cats aren’t even fully domesticated, they just learned to live with us. Exotic animals are a huge responsibility and most people cannot even properly care for their domestic cats and dogs.
