🛑 A proof of funds screenshot is not proof of anything!
Here's what banks actually look for before a $100M deal moves.
RWA — three letters that either open or close a $100M deal in 24 hours.
Most people in this space confuse activity for progress.
A broker chain six layers deep — and still no certainty that the buyer can actually close.
Here's what separates real transactions from theatre: a Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) letter from a licensed issuing bank.
An RWA is a formal bank-issued declaration confirming that a buyer is:
✅ Ready — has the funds verified and on deposit.
✅ Willing — has board/principal authorization to transact.
✅ Able — meets all compliance, KYC/AML, and regulatory requirements to close.
It is not a proof of funds screenshot.
It is not a broker's assurance.
It is bank-to-bank, officer-signed, compliance-backed intent.
💼 The RWA letter does three things nothing else can:
↳ 1. Eliminates unqualified principals immediately.
Serious buyers produce an RWA without hesitation.
Brokers and intermediaries cannot.
↳ 2. Compresses timelines dramatically.
When both banks are speaking the same language — verified funds, clear mandate, clean compliance — deals move fast.
↳ 3. Triggers preferential access.
Sellers and asset holders prioritize RWA-backed buyers.
In competitive situations, an RWA moves you to the front of the queue — immediately.
A European family office approached us on a $120M MTN (Medium-Term Note) acquisition. Three other parties had been circling the same asset for weeks.
The family office submitted a properly formatted RWA from their issuing bank on Day 1.
Within 18 hours, the seller's compliance team had verified the letter.
⚠️ Common mistakes I see constantly:
↳ Submitting a "soft proof of funds" instead of a bank-issued RWA
↳ Having a broker draft the RWA language (it must come from the bank officer)
↳ Missing the MT799/MT760 pathway reference for monetization tracks
↳ No direct banking coordinates — which signals it's a daisy chain, not a principal
If you're serious about closing at this level, the RWA is not a formality.
If you're navigating a transaction above $10M and want to understand how to structure an RWA-backed approach — send me a DM. 💬
I work with principals, family offices, and institutional desks on many types of trade finance deals.
