Please, DO NOT ride elephants. 🚫🐘😢 @elephant_news_network - In a follow up to our report on riding camps and riding elephants. We know this is disturbing. However this is the reality. Each elephant you choose to ride starts life much like this little one. Taken from their mother, chained and when old enough they will be taken through the tortuous #Phajaan. This means the little elephant will be strung up and tortured for usually around a week, denied food, water, beaten, water thrown over it, challenged with fire and hurt, all to show the animal who is boss. After a week or so a new handler, a mahout, will come and untie the animal and "free" it therefore taking over the control of the elephant and prepare it for the saddle for tourists to ride on its back. You must educate yourself on what the animal is put through and then you decide if you agree with this level of cruelty and still want to support elephants used in entertainment. It's business, you go home with a photo, the elephant stays chained 365 days a year. Every day, for up to 50 years or until death. Now think if that was you.... #banthesaddle #saynotoridingelephants @elephant_news_network #ENNwecare.................... All rights reserved and material belongs to Elephant_News_ Network
