I have been fostering two little orphans (Larro and Ziwadi) for a while now and meeting them last month was one of the most special experiences of my life. @sheldricktrust are doing such an amazing job to help these elephants grow up. All these orphans lost their family at an early age. For just $50 a year you can already adopt a little orphan elephant (or rhino/giraffe). In de video you can see the orphans running to their beds after a long fun day in the forest. Her mother died in a drought in 2017 and was found alone, still milk dependent with two bulls who watched out for her until the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust @sheldricktrust realized her days were numbered without milk from her mother. Her story is like many others, who lose their mothers to poaching or conflict. Today is the day to make it happen. 🐘 Malkia in the middle is a female about 3 years old. She is currently at the Ithumba Reintegration Unit in Tsavo East NP, Kenya. 🐘 To the left of Malkia is Sattao who is a two year old male. Reason for being orphaned is suspected poaching. Sattao is still at the Nairobi Nursery. 🐘 Last but not least on the right is Jotto. This orphan was trapped in a well in Samburu. Jotto is a 3 year old male and resides at Ithumba Reintegration Unit in Tsavo East NP. 🐘 You can adopt one or all three of these magnificent elephants. They do an incredible job in wildlife conservation and have worked tirelessly for 25 years to rescue orphan baby elephants and transition them back into the wild.
