Sweet Treats in Summer Heat

Baphel's enjoying a popsicle to try and cool down, but it doesn't seem like it's holding up too well in the fiery heat of Hell.

I hope everyone's having a good start to their summer and managing to keep cool too--it's hot as Hell outside!

As an imp who spends a lot of time in the mortal world trying to make deals and collect souls, Baphel often finds himself getting restless and homesick being so far from away from Hell. Luckily, listening to the familiar sounds of roaring flames and agonized screams always helps relax and remind him of home.

If you ever find yourself in a situation where he's your familiar or something, giving him an iPod filled with hellish ambiance downloaded from YTMP3 is a good way to get him to calm down and stop chewing on your furniture for a little while so you can sit in peace and wonder where your life went so wrong. Just make sure you don't give him anything that can connect to the internet, it'll probably only cause you more trouble…(ˉuˉ；)

Finally finished up an updated ref for Baphel that I've been working on for a while now. I think he looks fairly in line with how he's appeared in my last few pics, but I did change the font of the 「魔」 kanji on his onesie as well as the font I'll be using in his dialogue!

You know you've made it when you're able to make a better joke in your target language than your native one. I might not be able to hold a conversation in Japanese without stuttering constantly and having to pause every few seconds to formulate what I want to say, but I can make devil puns, which is way more imp-portant, I think!

Anniversary 2026

Today marks exactly one year since I first finished up my initial sketch of Baphel. I decided to throw together this little doodle to celebrate!

Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed my art over the past year or so, I hope to create lots more art going forward. Let's keep trudging forward, and learn to be happy with our imp-perfections.
