Candace Glendenning, Satan's Slave, 1976 (movie still)
Hey, y'all! I'm super excited to announce something very special: I'm launching a blog! It's called Adventures in Early Modernity. I'll be writing about early modern history, the Tudors, Tudor media, my journey in academia, and some of my other secondary intellectual interests (i.e. ancient history, the Hebrew Bible, classical/early modern literature, etc). I'm really looking forward to giving you a glimpse into my daily yapping and updating you on my life as an early modern history grad student. The site is up now, and you can access it here:
I already have two blog posts up! The first is an introduction to the blog and an account of my academic life (a detailed telling of my time at Oxford and Cambridge will be in a different post):
An introduction – who am I? Why do I study history? And what’s my academic journey been like so far?
And the second post up is part 1 (the 4 worst) of a 3-part ranking of 12 on-screen depictions of Anne Boleyn. I've had strong opinions on them for some time, so I'm really excited to finally put them out there! I will be tagging the portrayals on this post, BTW, so don't look at the tags if you don't want spoilers.
I’m exploring twelve on-screen depictions of Anne Boleyn in this three-part series. First up: the awful portrayals.
I'm over the moon, frankly! Make sure to subscribe to my blog so you can receive email updates with each new post. Just enter your email at the bottom of the page.
Tagging some of my mutuals to signal boost this:
