Pull + Clean & Jerk (5x3)
Supposed to do an extra set but wanted to leave some gas in the tank. These take so much out of you!
No issues, but they felt heavy today.
Barbell lunges (3x10 - ea leg)
So happy with these, 60 is the heaviest I've ever gone with lunges! Legs were jelly.
Med ball Russian twists (3x20)
20 KB American swings (32/24kg)
Nice little finisher for today.
Swings were unbroken, but the TTB are brutal. My forearms were already smoked from holding the bar for lunges, so I wasn't able to hold onto the bar as long as I would've liked to.
When warming up for this, I was able to string reps together, but as soon as the wod started, I kept losing my rhythm, so went back to doing them in singles with the extra kip in the middle.
The 400m run afterwards was actually quite nice.
After the wod... Thanks to some advice from Shan and Dru - I GOT MY FIRST STRICT MUSCLE UP!!
Then afterwards almost strung together two kipped ones!
Got the first one pretty easily (WHERE WERE YOU ON 13.3), then went to go for a second rep, but just didn't lean forward enough and I lost my mojo and fell. I could've gotten it if I fought for it.
So excited to keep practising these.. Goal for the next couple of weeks is to string together 5. CHE HOOOOO!!
