Rating 4.7/5 Once again, braving the cold, I met a friend at Barbetta, an elegant Italian restaurant at 321 W. 46th Street on Restaurant Row. Culinary HistoryRestaurant Row is located on West 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue and has more than a century of culinary history—Barbetta is a part of that history. The restaurant celebrated its 100th birthday in 2006, and it’s going strong. It was packed for a pre-theatre, even on a crisp, windy NYC night. Barbetta entrance. We wanted a full dinner, and the price, even though pricey, was reasonable considering what dining in a nice restaurant can cost these days, with price hikes due to distribution and supply issues. Prix Fixe dinner menu. Photo: Sora VernikoffI started with Barbetta's Frappe of Melons, a frothy mixture of melons and berries. Melon and Berry Frappe. Nonetheless, it was a perfect way to start the meal.Tender and FlavorfulI chose the Paillard of Chicken with fennel greens and oven-roasted tomatoes. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the fennel and oven-roasted tomatoes enhanced its taste. It was excellent! Chicken Paillard. Photo: Sora Vernikoff Dessert Menu. I presumed the lemon would be part of it, but it was in a cream form, coupled with the cake and generous sprinkling of pistachio nuts. It was a delightful combination.Excellent CoffeeFinishing up the meal at Barbetta with a cup of excellent coffee, I’d rate this meal as excellent. The ambiance (continuous dining room piano playing), the food quality, the preparation, and the wait staff were all excellent. I recommend Barbetta, especially for their pre-fixed theatre menu.Buon appetito!Barbetta Restaurant321 West 46th StreetNew York, NY [email protected] may also enjoy our other restaurant reviews, like Boozy Brunch at the Cutting Room, Kurant Wine Bar, The Regency Bar and Grill, and Rumrunners.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejzDJkUXgdw Read the full article
