AITAH Arcane AU "Auditions"
Heeeeeey 🖐
I know I've been really sporadic with updates to this fic. My personal life has been busy, and I've been finding it hard to concentrate on my creative pursuits in my downtime. I am going to work on fixing that though by taking it all a little at a time, that being said I was struck by inspiration on how to proceed towards the ending of the first instalment of this fic.
For a little refresher in the story so far, whilst Jinx, Ezreal, Lux, Sevika, and Annie wait for the go ahead to dip out of Demacia the rest of the world is responding to news coming out of the country and also responding to leaks coming out of the Mageseekers, courtesy of Silco and Jinx.
One bit of information that was leaked was the torrent affair between Shyvana (I am accepting ideas for her last name) and King Jarvan IV.
And I thought, why don't I make a podcast chapter going over the whole thing.
Which is where you lovely people come in.
I am looking for three other people to play Babette, Margot, and Howl (Ambessa's local cuisine) with me playing the role of Lest who will be the host of the podcast called Down The Rabbit Hole.
I will write a bit of dialogue, and the other characters will respond as if they were listening in real time.
The aim is to make the whole interaction feel authentic.
If you are interested in any of the roles, please respond in the chat. If nobody wants to participate, then don't worry I still plan on making this podcast chapter anyway.
❤️❤️❤️

Barbette, the Transvestite, adjusting "her" stockings, Paris, 1926 by Man Ray If you had lived in 1920s Paris, you would know who Barbette was. She was an icon of the night. A muse to the greats. A pioneer of queer. She might have built a career as a trapeze and high-rope performer...
The Texan began developing a unique act, inspired by the magic not only of these death-defying feats but also of disguising his gender, only revealing he was a man at the end, taking off his wig and parading around with a masculine gait. As he told the New Yorker, “I’d always read a lot of Shakespeare and thinking that those marvelous heroines of his were played by men and boys made me feel that I could turn my specialty into something unique.”

Groupie Fact: American performer Vander Clyde was more widely known as his drag cabaret and trapeze act persona "Barbette." Clyde began working as a circus acrobat in his teens before becoming a vaudeville star in his early 20s. While Barbette was a star among the European entertainment circuit - appearing at venues such as the Moulin Rouge -, she was also a muse to surrealist artists Jean Cocteau and Man Ray. Cocteau allegedly fell in love with Clyde's Barbette persona but the relationship did not last. Barbette is immortalized in the intimate photographic portraits Cocteau commissioned Man Ray to take, such as the one seen here.
