"I was starting to think you'd never be back."
@barbierps liked for a starter with princess odette!
odette didn't really know how to start this. it just seemed awkward, even though it was a good thing she was asking. "i just want you to stay in here and rest." she's not sure what happened but she was trying to be as calm as she could.
@barbierps liked for a starter with nancy drew!
"trust me, i always love when someone wants to be a detective and dip their toes in." nancy always thought that anyone can be a detective of her caliber. it just took work, which people can put in. "but i want to warn you in can be dangerous." she knew that was a given but hearing it from her might impact more. "like...life threatening dangerous." how many times has nancy been threatened or nearly killed when she got close to solving a case?
@barbierps liked THIS for a starter. For: Nadia
"Drink?" Maeve questioned, hues darting between the captivating dancer and the row of unclaimed glasses behind the bar. "You were great." As always. But she made a point of leaving the last part off. There was no denying that Maeve oversaw the performances; hell, it was impossible not to. But Nadia's were the only shows she actually paid attention to.
"You going back out there again tonight?"

Gwen had been hopping back and forth between Earth-65 and Earth-616 for years now while she got her degree, since blowing her secret identity at home had left her with few other options. She was always Ghost-Spider there, but on Peter's Earth, she could choose whether she wanted to be Gwen Stacy or do a little moonlighting as the Spider. New York City didn't really need her for that when they had Parker, but it was nice to keep her hand in. She was also lowkey avoiding home because MJ was mad at her. Something something missed band practice again. Mary Jane Watson, sort of terrifying in any universe, even without superpowers.
She'd perched somewhere high in the spider suit to listen in on the city. For some reason, little gummy spiders kept peeling themselves off from her suit and trying to crawl away, and she snatched one and raveled it back into her sleeve with a muttered, "Stop it. You're being creepy." Unlike Elsa and Eddie's symbiotes, Gwen's didn't really talk to her or have much of a personality of its own. Most of the time, she was pretty grateful for that, although it could get feisty about the whole anger and vengeance thing. They had to find other ways to communicate with each other, and traveling through dimensions always left the signals a little jammed. She caught on eventually though.
"Ooh, I get it now." At the sight of a black shadow moving independently of the rest of the city's shadows, she let the Ghost-Spider mask crawl back over her face and webbed a little closer, staying high but keeping an eye on the figure. Dressed in all black in this part of town at this time of night, they were probably up to no good, but Gwen didn't like to assume. Maybe they were doing the hero thing like she was. She needed more information, and that meant watching quietly for the moment. Admittedly, that wasn't her best skill, but she could swing it once in a while.
CLOSED STARTER FOR @barbierps FT. TRISTAN & UTP!!
it wasn't that out of the ordinary that he managed to run into his ex girlfriend. they lived in a small town and they still hung around the same crowds. so, once his eyes landed on her, he wasted no time approaching her. "you know," he started, "you can't avoid me forever. i mean, hell, it's been forever since we broke up. don't ya think it's about time we tried bein' friends?"
He knew he shouldn't have meddled in other people's affairs but it was hard not to give the kid in front of him the toy he so badly wanted. Tommy assumed it was the mother or some kind of relative that denied the kid the toy, overhearing that they were going through some hard times, but something in his heart wanted to do something about it. So when they were distracted by the kid's tears, he inched behind the family. Scanned the toy on the conveyor belt, and swiped his card. It made a beep which caught their attention and he simply redirected his focus on his phone. All of the items paid for by him. A small smile crept on his lips but not a word out of him.
