Catching the culprit? “ Pausing a moment to inspect one of the corpses, the Mage observes the deep, dark gashes in the unfortunate man’s chest. Claw marks, BIG, claw marks. Not nearly as large as his, however. “ Or just running to our doom? “

Standing upright again, he blesses the body so the spirit may pass on in peace. If it still waited in the corpse, of course. Straightening his robes underneath the leather straps around his torso, the rumored Crystal Mage gestures for the bard to follow after him. 

 “ But it’s too late to turn back now, I believe. “

Izumi called for a palace page, and when the girl arrived at her desk, handed her a neatly-folded note.

“Take this to the Royal Musician,” she told the page. “I would like him to compose a song bout the events of the year for the New Years’ festival.”

The girl bowed and ran off.

Misconception: rooks is an idiot (idk man)

Send me a misconception you think people have about my character and I’ll explain if it’s true or not.

   Nope, the Rookie is a very intelligent man! He’s not the absolute brightest (far from it tbh cause that’s crazy smart) but could never be someone people call an idiot. Rooks is forgetful at times, a little hot-headed in others, and sometimes he has trouble understanding certain things. But those are things most people can relate to- myself for example. Not only was he well educated back on Luna, but he’s also got a remarkable amount of wisdom despite his age. While he will most definitely deny it, it’s often a good idea to come to him for advice.

~Happy Birthday~

Vanyel fidgeted in his seat, nearly spilling the wine he was sipping to calm his nerves. He was beginning to think this was a bad idea. What if Stefen was so angry he refused? And Stefen would most definately be pissed, seeing as Van had avoided him all day. Aside from leaving his birthday present on his desk in the Bard's college (a lovely sapphire pendant, that had taken a nice chunk out of Vanyel's savings), Vanyel had hardly acknowledged that it was Stefen's birthday. He had read an interesting book that Medren had slipped to him, saying that it was Stefen's favorite. It had been shocking, and Van nearly died reading this smut that his lifebonded somehow had a passion for. Not all of it was awful, however, and he was intrigued by a few things that happened in chapters 3 and 28 (he had marked them you see). That was how he had come up with this idea for Stefen's birthday present. So there he was, waiting for his lifebonded to come in so Vanyel could wish him a proper happy birthday.
