"It's Just Business" || Grayson + Isabella

The girl was excited for the family event, she was invited to. Though, it wasn’t her family. It was her friends. But since her family doesn’t count as the award-winning parents, her best friend snatched her away for the holidays, thankfully. She only new her best friends parents and siblings, but nothing more. Isabella knew Jess and her family had a large, and—- I guess you could say different.

Today was the day. Oh„ yes today was the day Isabella finally met her best friends whole family. Having mixed feelings ever since she received the invitation, the girl has been anticipating this day. “Isabella, calm down.” Jess laughed, shaking her head. Beaming, Isa climbed out of the car once it came to a stop. “I can feel the love already Jessica, I ju-” Her words ended in a jumble, crashing into something large. “Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. I’m a mess.” The girl didn’t even bother to look up, readjusting herself, and attempting to help the other. The girl turned a small smirk on her face, even though she felt completely embarrassed. Seeking her friends help, she hid behind Jess, examining the male from a distance.

Scarlett let herself in with the key, then stopped dead in her tracks when a bunch of people gazed in her direction. She looked down at her lovely outfit that consisted of a sports bra and sweatpants, and continued to Grayson's room. She decided not to knock, and just walk in.

"Grayson, I swear to god. Don't you dare follow me this time." She practically growled. Anger flashed through her mocha hues as she shouted. She pulled the door open, and stomped out. The stairs were slippery from all the rain pouring down on her. She didn't care, though. She stood out there next to her car. She let the rain mix in with the hot tears that spilled down her cheeks. Scarlett pulled open the door to her car, just to turn around and see the boy stomping out of the house. "I said not to follow me!" She hissed, scurrying towards him. "Go back in the house. Now, Grayson."

I know today is a tough day for me, and if I can remember right, it is for you too. I also know that you like to read my letters over and over after I send them to you, which is why I'm writing this instead of texting or calling you. Moms are supposed to be the people that love you the most. I know your mom loves you, even if she doesn't show it the way you hoped for. You know that I've had over fifteen moms, and none of them had treated me the way I deserved. I guess in a way, I can relate to how you feel today. But at the same time, I'm not going to pretend to. I've been sick in bed all day, otherwise I would've dropped by. I did however leave some candy along with this, as you can tell because I put it outside your front door. I love you a lot, alright? Call me if you need anything else.

It had been a full year since she had last seen Grayson. A lot had changed; her hair, her outlook on things,  but not her feelings for him. It had been a daily struggle to get better. Most of her long days consisted of her writing songs, and missing him. Sometimes, she'd regret ever going back to rehab. But at the same time, she knew she had to go and recover. She was a bit worried about what he was going to say to her. Would he be angry that she had left without physically telling him? She did leave a letter, but it didn't really do him justice. What if he hated her new, blue hair? Scarlett, you dumbass, he doesn't care about your hair. He deserved the best. To this day, she still didn't believe she was good enough for him. 

Scarlett pulled the car into the driveway. She noticed that his car was still parked in the same place it always was. She was glad that he was actually here. The last time she had been here, they had a small fight. Even though they recovered from it, she still remembered it. She had thrown shoes at him. It made her laugh now, but it was bad then. She got out of the car, taking a deep breath. She wasn't prepared for this. She hadn't told him that she was coming back, so he could react in a lot of ways. What if he broke up with her when she showed up at the door? What if he doesn't even remember her? She slowly trudged to the door, and knocked gently. She took a step back, and waited until she heard the door unlock and then open. Her breath hitched in her throat before she could say, "Miss me?"
