Friends from Syria gave me this curry-like spice that smells like cloves? (They usually eat it with rice and chicken. I guess it’s something like this?) I just used it in a rice-stirfry-thingy with fennel, carrots, potatoes and - it’s heavenly. I often feel like german cuisine is the most boring cuisine in the world. It’s just so...ordinary. No real spices. Nothing exciting. Nothing complex.
