I'm not sure if you mentioned barris' age anywhere or his face cus I honestly forgot but could you tell us his age and what he looks like cus I keep imagining him as varys from game of thrones and sassy😭😭

Okay, so this is how I imagine Baris:

Now, he may be surrounded by women (harem concubines) but he has no interest in them (because he's forbidden from sleeping with them and also cause he's a narcissist). He runs the harem, he controls these women and he trains them well for the sultan and his sons. And these concubines know that if they ever wanna get a shot with the royals, they need to please Baris.

He is always well dressed, composed and calculating. He likes to stir up shit for fun. Now he may be eunuch (which means he's castrated) but it doesn't mean he doesn't... get some. He's actually very picky about who he sleeps with or not.

I think age wise, he's somewhere between 28-35.

Hi, first of all, I want you to know that I simply love your AU, I love how you bring out the full potential of the characters.

Secondly, I wanted to ask how hell works in this series. Because I'm confused by some details that have appeared. Vaggie seems to be a sinner, because in one of the Halloween comics she said "that she didn't have many relatives around there". Are Angel Dust and Molly hellborns? Because you showed Angel in the past when he was a child, but in his demonic form.

This isn't a criticism, I just wanted to know more about how this world works.

Firstly, THANKS FOR READING! I'm so glad you enjoy the series! As for the general lore of Forgery... The official Hazbin Hotel pilot wasn't even in production yet when I began writing/drawing the Shadow Day arc. So all I had to go off of for the world and the characters were Vivziepop's concept art and notes, most of which were from 2015 or earlier. Which is why many of the characters in forgery still have their 2015 designs (though I did make a few updates as Vivziepop revamped some of the characters such as Baxter's angler fish light). Due to this, concepts like "sinner" and "hellborn" really weren't fleshed out yet, if they even existed at all. And much of the official lore was still unexplained.

I decided earlier on I wanted to focus more on the mobster setting since details of Angel's mobster family were frequently mentioned in the notes. And it was hard to write a mobster story without the threat of death. So I ended up firmly grounding forgery in a more "mortal" world.

With the exception of Alastor, everyone in forgery just behaves like living breathing mortal humans. (Ironically enough Alastor is one of the few characters I've almost killed. It wasn't part of the plan initially but when I found him where he was at the end of the Marked arc I deeply considered it. And honestly if it comes up again I might just kill him. I can make more than enough use for him in flashbacks. XD).

So in the forgery universe, all of the character are born, live, and die in hell. None of them know what happens before or after that, it's the same as our world, except they firmly believe that their current existence IS hell.

Honestly my biggest regret is not giving Charlie horns. I was still on the fence about some of the more "magic-y" abilities until halfway through the Relapse arc I think. If I had planned for Charlie to never transform from the start I probably would've given her more demon-like features in her standard form (though i headcanon that she files her horns down and hides them under her hair). ...I probably would've also given Mimzy a tail.

Also full confession, I have yet to watch any of the official show aside from the pilot. From what I saw I wasn't the target audience, and I didn't want any of Forgery's AU to be influenced by it. So forgive me for being completely lost whenever you guys mention current lore in the official series. ^///^; I know a lot of you watch it and I hope you're enjoying it along side the forgery comic (however far Forgery may have veered from the original).

Anyway thank you SO MUCH for reading! I pour a lot of time and energy into the comics and it means the world to me that any of you enjoy them! ;w;

(oh and for any non-english-speaking readers, it's been brought to my attention that there are no subtitles on the animatics. So I plan to at least add english subtitles to each of them by the end of the year so at the very least you'll be able to google-translate your way through the animatics!)

the fact that i'm seeing so many baron/reader fics and even fucking baron/EDDIE MUNSON but everyone is sleeping on the obvious and true pairing Otis/Baron.

They were equally obsessed with each other!!!! Baron collected clippings of Otis and his investigation! He orchestrated himself into that prison cell with him or how else would he have been able to pull of the scheme to get his former foster father arrested and fuck over his pharmaceutical company!!! And Otis is obviously obsessed with Marmalade unaware that she's sitting in the cell with him. He thinks that Baron is just a poor rube pulled in and tricked by a pretty face but he's got it wrong! Otis is the rube tricked by a pretty boy with a soft spoken demeanor and affectation of stupidity.

Anyway I need a 400k cat and mouse fic of the two of them and I need Otis to see him in one of tarty little disguises.
