(and all of the character notes that come with it)
realistically, they've been playing against each other since their GTHL days, Denver says he's played against Porter his whole life (but it's a lot harder to find those game logs, so we're going to focus on the O)
2022-23 SEASON
Porter's first season in the OHL (described as "the type of kid that most teams will want to build a championship around" following his draft, Denver's second season in the O
SARNIA STING vs LONDON KNIGHTS (SEPT 9, 2022)
including this game purely because "[Porter's] first pre-season game as a 16-year-old with Sarnia in London, he was trying to fight guys"
London wins in a shootout, both shoot and miss
LONDON KNIGHTS vs SARNIA STING (DEC 30, 2022)
First OHL regular season game against each other, possibly their first game against each other (they might have played against each other in the GTHL, but I can't find any scoresheets to verify that).
SARNIA STING vs LONDON KNIGHTS (DEC 31, 2022)
(Honestly, not a super interesting game for either of them, besides Porter's 5 mins for fighting)
Porter gets traded to the Mississauga Steelheads on January 7, 2023, which, to editorialize for a second, is very possibly one of the deciding factors that put him on the developmental track for the NHL debut that he had. He plays higher in the lineup with the Steelheads, takes fewer penalties, and starts to "be more cautious."
2023-24 SEASON
MISSISSAUGA STEELHEADS vs LONDON KNIGHTS (DEC 1, 2023)
This game itself isn't super interesting, but shortly after this, the 2024 World Junior roster is announced. Denver is a late cut, with Easton Cowan and Oliver Bonk both making the roster.
LONDON KNIGHTS vs MISSISSAUGA STEELHEADS (JAN 6, 2024)
Denver is first star of the game, Porter is third star, each with one goal.
Both attend the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase, which the Flyers absolutely had eyes on (quality quote here about waiting for Denver to "develop that man strength").
2024-25 SEASON
Porter named captain of the Steelheads, Denver named captain of the Knights
Denver misses both Knights and Flyers training camps with mono, attends Canada's World Junior Selection camp.
LONDON KNIGHTS vs BRAMPTON STEELHEADS (OCT 5, 2024)
Denver misses both Knights and Flyers training camps, as well as the first few games of the season (including this one) with mono, but attends World Juniors selection camp when he's healthy again and is praised by one of his coaches for his mentality in returning ("It's a process and he didn't get frustrated by it.")
Canada World Juniors 2025 roster is announced. Porter makes the cut, Denver does not.
(Article that sums up Denver's terrible horrible no-good year and a half)
BRAMPTON STEELHEADS vs LONDON KNIGHTS (FEB 21, 2025)
(full game on youtube, interview with Porter at 26:11)
The last time they play against each other, with Denver assisting on Dickinson's OT GWG.
NOTE: Per NCAA rules, Porter was not at Flyers prospect camp this past summer, and they didn't meet in Mem Cup playoffs, so they likely didn't cross paths again until Porter signed w/ the flyers
(and in case you're wondering, of the five reg season games that they played against each other, Denver's team won four)
