What were the most unique skills yall had before anything playtime happened? Like, instruments played, really good at a specific impression, could color match something perfectly, stuff like that

If nothing comes to mind for that then ig just how are things today? Everything still mostly going okay?

Matthew here: I was a bit of a singer. Even now, singing lullabies has helped me hone my skills quite a bit.

Kevin speaking. I was actually kinda good at parkour. ...small-time stuff, but still.

Jackie doesn't feel like answering himself but he said we can speak for him. He could tell when a recipe used a substitution just from the taste. He says it "doesn't taste like the expected taste, so it tastes weird". Basically, he has expectations for the flavor of certain things and if it's different, he can tell immediately.

As for how things are going today, definitely a lot better. Our anchor had a long day though so she's pretty tired.

Do yall ever make up your own stories to tell the younger ones as well as reading from the books you’ve got? You mentioned shadow puppets before so I wondered if that’s how you use them lol

Collectively speaking. Usually we use the shadow puppets to tell fairytales that don't have a lot of pictures, but our anchor helped us come up with a story. It's called Batty and Bunny and it's about two friends - a bat and a rabbit - who love doing many of the same things together. One of Batty's favorite things to do is to fly through the air at night and dance with the stars. Bunny, unfortunately, can't fly, but really wants to dance with Batty. So Batty ends up making a little hang-glider for Bunny that they pull along with them so Bunny can dance with the stars too.

Really, it's a story about how not everyone has access to the same things, but figuring out a way to include friends who have that kind of experience can mean a lot to them.

We can probably write it out sometime if anybody's interested.

What do each of you think the best trait a person can have is?

Best trait a person can have?

I (Matthew) say it's respect, Kevin says tolerance, Jackie says kindness. But we all agree with each other on each answer so we'd say a combination of the three.

As for our favorite items in Safe Haven?

Well, someone recently found my old favorite book, so that's mine. Before that I'd probably say the string lights.

Kevin's is this wiffle ball set we have for playing with the smaller ones. He says the bat makes a satisfying sound when it hits things.

Jackie likes the selection of crayons we managed to salvage. He loves to draw.
