Before After. Removing the slaked lime (Calcium Hydroxide) off the slab reveals the amazing tone of the original wood. This piece is 1/2 of a beam (6” x 14” x 28’) and would have been milled in the 1840s. The parent beam was part of the historical Ontario Woolen Mills in Cobourg, Ontario. Vintage Architectural. All reclaimed lumber from the Codrington area. The main beam is 140+ years old and at 20’ - 10” x 10” it was a heavy lift. The 9’ centre post part of the same beam section. The gable arches are 3” x 6” reclaimed rafter beams cut to a 8:12 pitch.
