Chai, I'm sorry if I'm overreacting, but the video where Brandon Rogers makes sexual jokes with a naked baby doll all the while in blackface is genuinely one of the most disgusting and uncomfortable stuff I have ever seen. I know there is much worse online but that made me feel actually nauseous. I know he was young when he did that but I truly don't think he can come back from that. And the fact that there has been no apology from anyone (at least from what I've heard) makes this so much worse. So, long story short, fuck Brandon Rogers and I hope every black fan/ex-fan of the Hellaverse (and poc in fandom spaces in general) has a good day (and you have a good day too, Chai!)

He and Viv can try to handwave it as much as they want, but I really do think (slash hope) that it'll follow him forever. A lot of his edgy old jokes were a lot more acceptable back then, but blackface has been completely and wildly unacceptable for two to three decades longer than he's been alive. And he did it repeatedly.

Thinking about her getting addicted to heroin and ending up in bad spots just trying to make a safe place for her children, get money to keep them alive. Thinking about her getting sober but never becoming a better mother because she was never meant to be one. Thinking about Cathy wanting nothing more than her dad to hold her, to help her. But she has no help. Thinking about her growing a dependency on caffeine because it’s the closest to heroin she can get these days. Thinking about Cathy never being able to end the cycle of shitty childhoods, her kids growing up with a mother trying so hard but never enough. Too loud, too mean, too negligent.
