Hello! So i have seen that you have request open, so maybe you could do 64 or 6 with baron corbin? That will make me so happy! Thanks for read this and you're an amazing writer!
A/N: Aww thank you. They fitt quite well together so I decided to use both of them ^_^ also do you guys like me using wrestlers actual names or should I just go back to in ring names? Let me know because for example this originally had Baron's real name, Thomas, instead of Baron.
Prompt #6 - “I need a place to stay.” + Prompt #64 - “Here take my blanket.”
It was pretty well known back stage that Baron was a bit of a loner. His attitude in the ring didn’t help with making friends outside the ring, which is why everyone was supprised that you were best friends with the lone wolf. Only you knew the man behind Baron, the real softie that he was. He was always so nice to you and never failed to make you smile, Corey would say it’s because Baron liked you but you never believed him, you’d had a crush on Baron for as long as you could remember and were happy enough blissfully ignoring those feelings. Or so you thought. Baron had just come back into the gorilla after loosing his Money in the Bank contract, and he did not look happy. Everyone back stage moved out the way as he stormed through the arena, supperstars stood looking at Baron with pitty, they often said having a Money in the Bank contract guarenteed you a title win, unless of course you were Baron Corbin. You’d been in the canteen area watching on the screen and saw everything that had happened, quickly you excused yourself from the table, nearly knocking your chair over in the process. Briskly walking to where Baron would have come from you hoped he hadn’t let his anger get the best of him, his anger wasn’t as bad as the WWE made out but after being screwed over like that anyone would be pissed. Practically running down the halls you coud see people stepping to the side, Baron then storming through after with a look of pure rage plastered across his face. Stopping in your tracks you stood, arms folded loosly across your chest, waiting for him to reach you. As he aproached Baron tired to swerve round you but you stuck an arm out stopping him in his tracks.
“(Y/N) Please move.” Baron was yet to make eye contact with you so you just moved to stand infront of him.
“No. Not till you calm down and I know you’re not gonna do anything stupid and hurt yourself.”
“And if you don’t move I’m scared that I might hurt you.” You could hear Baron was trying keep his voice calm but the clentched fists and slight shake in his arms told you otherwise. “So please move.” He finally looked up, brown eyes looking even darker than usual, silently pleading with you.
“Just promise me you won’t do anything stupid.” Baron sighed before nodding his head, stepping to the side you watched as he stalked off and somewhere down the corridor a door slammed shut and a loud crash follow behind.
Throughout the night you’d tried to text Baron but got no reply, you’d even tried texting Corey but he’d heard nothing from the elusive man. Sighing you place your phone on the bed side table, snuggling further down into the hotel duvet trying to concentrate on the tv show playing in the background hoping that Baron was okay. Just as you were drifting off there was a knock at the door, thinking it was just the TV still playing you turn over snuggling down but the knock comes again followed by a familliar voice.
“(Y/N)? you awake?” groggily getting up out of bed you rub your eyes and unlock the door, blinking heavily letting your eyes adjust to the light you see Baron stood there bag in hand nervously rubbing the back of his neck. “Sorry its so late but I need a place to stay.”
“Of course come in. What happened?” You stood aside as he entered the room, dropping his bag and slumping down onto the bed.
“The hotel found out what happened at the arena in the locker room and kicked me out my room.” Sitting down on the bed beside him you gently nudged his leg with yours.
“And what exactly happened in the locker room?”
“Let’s just say I’ve got a pretty hefty fine but the arena promised not to mention anything. Guess someone else must have told the hotel.”
“Baron I’m sorry.” Leaning your cheek on his shoulder you let out a sigh as he gently places his hand on your knee.
“Thanks. I’m just glad you’re letting me stay.” He smiles sweetly at you, as you look up and do the same. It’s only then you realise how close you are, noses almost touching practically sharing the same breath.
“It’s getting pretty late we should ummmm get some sleep. Early start and all.” Nervously you get up hoping the blush now covering your cheeks would disapear. Getting into bed you face the wall waiting for the bed to dip and Baton to join you but that never happened. Turrning over you see him trying to his large limbs in the single chair in the room.
“What are you doing?” you ask Baron, sitting up slightly in the bed.
“Going to sleep? What does it look like I’m doing?”
“Like you’re going to be very sore in the morning. Get your butt up here.” Patting the empty spot beside you you lie down at wait again. This time you feel the bed dip beside you as Baron sits down and takes his shoes off before lying down next to you.
“Better?” He turns and smiles at you once again, resting his hands behind his head.
“You could get into bed ya dafty. I’m not going to bite.” Chuckling at him you turn to lay on your side and face him.
“I’m good.” Grinning brightly at you, gently brushing a strand of your hair behind your ear. Instantly you feel the blush rise to your cheeks and bury your nose and cheeks under the duvet.
“Goodnight.” You mumble from under the duvet.
“Goodnight (Y/N).” Baron chuckles, leaning over you to turn the light off causing you to sunk in your breath when your face was pressed into his chest. Finally he settled facing away from you wrapping his arms around himself.
Through out the night you were tossing and turning, looking at the time on your phone you saw it was around 2am, not feeling a weight next you you your turn and see Baron fiddling with Air conditioning.
“Damn thing.” You hear him mutter under his breath.
“What's up?” You sleepily mumble propping up on one elbow. Baron whips his head round hearing your voice.
“Sorry did I wake you?” Baron walks back over to the bed shivering slightly, defeated by his previous task. You shake your head at him noticing his shivering.
“Here take my blanket.” You motion, pulling one of the blankets off of you and hand it to him.
“Thanks. Damn air con is stuck on.” You notice Baron still shivering.
“Get up.” You sigh waiting for him to stand. Once he does you lift up the duvet for him. Baron gets into the bed as if you were going to bite his head off. Sighing you throw the duvet over him, draping your arm over him to pull him closer. “Better?” You ask trying to swollow your nerves and hear Baron suck in a breath.
“Not quite.” You were about to ask why when you felt his lips meet yours, smiling you kiss back feeling his hand coming to rest on your hip trying to pull you closer. Pulling away you couldn’t help the smile that spread across your face as Baron bumbed his nose with yours. “Now I’m better.” Chuckling he pulls you tighter into his chest, palm resting in the small of your back. “I’ve wanted to do that for so long.”
“Me too.” You breathe out leaning up to place another peck on his lips, feeling your eyes start to grow heavy. Baron must have some how noticed or felt the same because he placed a kiss to your forehead.
“Goodnight (Y/N)” Was the last thing you remember hearing before driffting off into one of the best nights sleep you’d gotten in a long time.

summary: Baron’s caught your eye and you want him.
warnings: none that I can spy
word count: 5,165
notes: So, this is based off of this post, and I made it my own. Dean wasn’t meant to have such a prominent role in this fic, but he kinda wormed his way in, so there you go.
He’s so tall, and handsome as hell, he’s so bad and he does it so well. Okay, so you aren’t very fond of Taylor Swift, but hey, those lyrics fit Baron Corbin to the letter. And whenever you spy him, those lyrics always seem to pop into your head. It’s ridiculous, really, and you wish you could put a stop to it, but alas, you cannot.
You’re positive that everyone on the roster has caught you staring at him, but if someone has, no one’s mentioned it. Which is weird, because you’re surrounded by Renee, Nikki, Nattie, and Naomi, who always can tell when you’re not engaged in conversation. But they’re just chattering away, giving you even more time to stare at tall and broody who was over in the corner, talking to someone who isn’t very important. You didn’t really notice the other person, you’re just focusing on Baron.
Your name is said sharply and you’re turning your head towards the sound, blinking. Renee is the one who said your name, but they’re all looking at you with their eyebrows raised. “Everything okay? You look a bit dazed,” Renee is saying.
“Of course, sorry, I got caught in my own little world.” You’re glancing back towards Baron, only to see that he’s gone. Of course, they’re all tilting their heads in the direction you were looking at, and since no one’s there, you’re not caught.
“You sure you didn’t bump your head too hard or anything, girl?” Naomi’s reaching out to touch your head, as if feeling for a bump, and you’re brushing her off.
“Yeah, I’m totally fine! I promise,” you’re saying with a smile, and then Nikki’s putting her arm around your shoulder, tugging you into her side.
“Whatever you say. But you know what sounds good right now? Wine.”
Everyone’s making a sound of agreement, and Nikki’s dragging you off towards the locker room so you all can collect your bags and head out.
You haven’t been on the main roster for very long, being a newbie who just made her way up from NXT. You’re so baby face you’re up on top with Bayley and Sami Zayn, just an overall bubbly and happy person. You’d never dare try and break the rules and that’s why everyone would flip if you they knew you had a thing for Baron Corbin. They’d think you’d hit your head too many times. And well, maybe you had, but that’s besides the point. You wanted Baron and it’s about time that you got what you wanted.
That’s why, at the next house show, you made your way up to him after your match. “So, how’s the weather up there?” You’re asking, and he’s blinking down at you in surprise. Hardly anyone comes up to him, after all, he is the lone wolf, but fuck it, you are now. And although it’s very sparse around, you know a few people could see you talking to him and you know how the place gossips. But right now, you don’t care.
“What?” Baron’s asking, and you’re just grinning sweetly up at him.
“How’s the weather? You know, since you’re so tall and all that. Figured the weather might be different up there.” Okay, so you probably could’ve gone a different route with this. But it was the first thing that popped into your mind and at least he hasn’t walked off yet.
Baron is staring at you like you’ve grown two heads, and then he’s letting out a small scoff, looking away. “Yeah, like I haven’t heard that one before.”
“Yeah, of course, but hey, it broke the ice, right?” And you’re pleased about that.
He’s looking back at you, tilting his head to the side as if studying you. “And why would you want to break the ice?”
“What, am I not allowed to come up and talk to you? You looked lonely.”
He’s letting out a short laugh, crossing his arms across his chest. “People call me the lone wolf for a reason, sweetheart.” Your heart does this weird little flip flop and you’re positively beaming at that.
“Yeah, but doesn’t mean you can’t talk to people, huh, Baron? Like we’re doing right now? Conversation is good for the soul. You should do it more often. And I’m always open for talking. Here.” You’re quickly reaching for a stray pen that’s on the table and then grasping his arm. In his surprise (and to yours), he’s letting you, and you’re quickly scrawling your phone number on his arm. “That’s my number. Feel free to call me, okay?”
With one last big smile up at him, you’re walking away, feeling absolutely pleased with yourself.
It’s Dean who talks to you about it, first, although you know Renee’s probably put him up to this. “Corbin been bothering you, kid?” He’s asking at the next day, and you’re furrowing your eyebrows.
“What? No. Who told you he was bothering me?”
“Not important. But if he is bothering you, you let me know. I won’t let the asshole fuck you with you.” He’s saying, and then rubbing your hair affectionately, before heading off, probably to find Renee. You’re watching him leave, before frowning. Do people think that if you talk to him, he’s bothering you? Did they not see that it was the other way around? People are confusing, you don’t understand gossip.
It’s Tuesday night and you haven’t received a call or a text from Baron and you’re a little hurt, honestly. You’re walking around the arena on a mission, and it’s not long before you find him, freshly showered and dressed after his match. He looks good, beanie on top of his head and you just want to snuggle with him, to be honest. But you can’t do that, not yet.
“You know,” you start, and you have to force yourself to continue and not burst out laughing when you see him jump a little bit, “when I gave you my number, I expected you to call me. Don’t tell me you got rid of it and never put my number in your phone.” You’re standing with your hands on your hips, raising your eyebrows.
He’s rubbing the back of his neck and he’s looking everywhere but you. “No, I put it in my phone.”
“Great, why don’t you text me so I actually have your number. I’ll wait.”
“You’re clashing my whole lone wolf vibe, here, sweetheart.”
“You kind of put a dent in that when you first called me sweetheart. And when you told me you put my number in your phone. You’re also kind of blushing, which is adorable.” You’re honestly surprised you’re this confident, but you’ve always been a go getter. You always got what you wanted. “Now come on, give me those digits.”
He’s staring at you for quite a while, but you’re not budging. You’re staring right back at him, an eyebrow raised, waiting for him. He’s sighing, before he’s pulling out his phone and messing with it for a moment. You’re getting a ping, and you’re sliding your phone from your pocket so you can see what he sent you. It’s just a simple ‘you happy now?’ but it makes you smile.
“I am, thank you.” You’re saving him under Baron with a wolf emoji and you’re very pleased with yourself and you’re letting out a little giggle.
“You saved me with a wolf emoji, didn’t you?” It’s more of a statement, and you’re just smiling up at him.
“Of course. Gotta keep up your lone wolf style, even in my phone, don’t you?” You’re retorting and his lip is twitching just slightly before he looks away, tucking his phone back into his pocket.
“Why did you want my number anyway?”
You’re looking at him like he’s grown two heads now. “Why would anyone give you their number, Baron? I want to talk to you.”
“I don’t talk to anyone.”
“You talk to Corey. Why can’t you talk to me?”
He’s staring at you like you’re a puzzle that he can’t solve. He’s stepping closer to you, opening his mouth, but before he can say anything, he’s interrupted by a feminine voice calling your name.
You’re turning around, only to see Renee, and you’re turning back to see Baron stalking off. You’re looking after him, disappointment running through you and you’re biting your bottom lip.
“Everything okay?” She’s asking as she comes up to you, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“Yeah, I’m fine. What did you need?” You’re not fine, but you’re going to put on a happy face around Renee.
“Oh, we got the script for next week. I have an interview with you, want to go over it?”
“Of course.” You agree, even though it’s the last thing you want to do right now. You want to text him, but you’ll wait until later.
It’s the next morning, after your workout, when you finally get the chance to text him.
⇾ You never did get to answer my question, you know
⇾ Also why did you leave so quickly?
It’s quite a while before he texts you back, and you’re a little surprised that he even did.
⇽ What question?
⇽ And I had somewhere else to be.
⇾ !!
⇾ Hey, you kind of just did. You’re talking to me now!
⇾ And, okay, sure you did.
You know he’d just decided to run away, but you’re confused why he did. Was it because he didn’t want you two to be seen together? Why was he tolerating you? Baron’s an enigma and you just want to know him.
⇽ Oh, that question.
⇽ You broke me down. What did you want to talk about?
Okay, so obviously he didn’t want to talk about why he ran away, seeing as he dropped the topic, but you’re more than pleased that he’s actually responding to you now.
⇾ Well…
⇾ Anything and everything, really?
⇾ Idk,how about…
⇾ Why you got interested in wrestling?
You guys continued texting into the night, and you’ve learned so much about him in just the span of a couple of hours. It’s amazing how easily the conversation seemed to flow between the two of you and you’re so giddy.
The giddiness carries on throughout the next couple of days. You both continue texting each other, and you can’t wait to see him at the house show later tonight. You have to get ready for your match, but you have plans on hunting him down when you can. Once you’re in ring gear, you head to hair and makeup with Becky, chatting about the match for tonight. You perk up when you see Baron heading towards you two. You can tell that he lights up just a bit, and you know it’s because he sees you.
You expect him to just pass you, but you’re surprised when he grasps your arm and nods towards a hallway, before he heads that way. “I’ll be right back,” you say to Becky, barely sparing her a glance and you follow him, a smile spreading across your face.
“What’s up, buttercup?” You say, cheerily, once you two are alone.
“I have a question for you.”
“Oh, yeah? Shoot!”
“Why have you singled me out?”
You’re blinking up at him. “What, like why did I decide to talk to you?” He gives you a nod and you continue. “Because I wanted to? Do I have to have an ulterior motive?”
“No… I just… why now?” He’s running his hand over his head, getting his hair out of his face.
Here’s where you’re looking down, biting the inside of your cheek. “Kinda had to gain the courage.” Which is true. You’ve been pining after him for months and normally you don’t go up to someone you like and act like you have with him. It’s easier to act like this around the people you’re close with, the straightforwardness and the easy way of talking. But with Baron, you kind of pushed yourself. And it was good, you feel way more comfortable around him after texting him the past couple of days, but now you’re feeling a bit awkward.
“What, were you afraid of me or something?” Your head snaps up and he’s looking a bit standoffish, a bit hurt. And you’re shaking your head, moving closer to him, reaching out to grab his arm.
“No, no, I would never be afraid of you! Yeah, you’re tall and stuff, but I’m not afraid of you. It just… took me a while to figure out how to approach you. You know… the lone wolf stuff doesn’t make you very approachable.”
He’s glancing down at your hand on his arm, and then adjusts so he can hold that hand in his own. “Yeah. I know. It’s just what I’m used to.” The fact that he’s holding your hand makes your heart do flip flops and you’re giving his hand a squeeze.
“You don’t have to be used to that anymore. Not around me at least.”
He’s letting out a soft laugh, and then stepping closer to you, reaching up to wrap his hand around the back of your neck. “You’re going to ruin my entire image, you know that, right?”
You’re grinning up at him. “You’ll get used to it.” And then you’re standing on your tiptoes, your hand moving to pull him down to meet you. Your lips are just about to connect when your phone goes off and he’s pulling back. You’re groaning, and you’re pulling out your phone, only to see that it’s Becky calling you.
You don’t answer it, you just look right back up at Baron. He’s once again, looking like he’s pulled back from you emotionally. And you’re sighing. “I… better go. I’ll text you later?” The confidence that you once had has seem to flee, and you’re worried that maybe you’re pushing too far. Even though he was responding to you, you didn’t want to… make him regret anything.
He’s nodding. “Yeah… we’ll talk later. Have a good match, okay?” He’s stepping closer to you, leaning to press a kiss to the top of your head, and then he’s walking past you, heading out of the hallway. You’re standing in the same spot, watching as Becky calls you again, but still don’t answer. He kissed you. Well, okay, the top of your head, but it’s the same thing.
You only answer when Becky calls you for the third time, and you’re letting out a small sigh. “I’m coming, hold your horses, Becks.”
You and Baron text all night, not mentioning the almost kiss. You see him at the hotel the next morning when you’re heading to the gym and he’s leaving. He gives you a smile and you happily return it, before you head inside to start your workout. You don’t see him at all the rest of the day, only communicating with him through texts, and you’re really excited to see him later tonight.
You just don’t expect to get met with news that Dean had confronted Baron while you were busy getting ready. Renee, of course, is the new giver and you’re staring at her, your fingers quickly finishing up lacing your boots. Naomi, Becky, and Nikki are also in the room with you, looking between the both of you.
“Wait, what?”
“He’s bothering you, right? Everyone’s been talking about it. He’s cornered you several times and Becky said he put his hands on you. So Dean told him to stay away from you. And I’m pretty sure he will,” she says, comfortingly, and you’re staring at her like she’s grown two heads, before looking at everyone else in the room.
“Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe we were just talking? Maybe we’re friends? Because that can happen you know. He never cornered me, in fact, you want to know something? I cornered him. Because I wanted to talk to him. Because I like him. More than a friend. And I’ve been working my way up. Okay, well, not working my way up, I kind of bombarded him with my number the first time we actually talked but we’ve been texting! And he’s been nothing but nice to me!”
Becky’s reaching over to put her hand on your shoulder. “It just came out of nowhere, him touching you. I didn’t hear anything before and then he’s pretty much dragging you off to an empty hallway? What was I supposed to think?”
You’re shrugging it off, because as much as you love your friends, you’re a little upset. Okay, well a lot upset. You had no idea what Dean had said to Baron and you hope it hasn’t made him hate you now. “Well, maybe you should’ve asked me. I know he has that lone wolf thing going on and I know he’s dangerous but he hasn’t done anything to hurt me. Yeah, I probably should’ve told you guys about me talking to him but… I was still trying to figure things out and it’s new and… I don’t know…”
You’re sighing, running your fingers through your hair. And then you’re looking at Nikki and Naomi. “You don’t have John and Jimmy going after him, do you?” They’re shaking their heads and you’re nodding, before standing up. “I love you guys, I appreciate the gesture, but like… next time, talk to me,” you say, before looking over at Renee. “Can you talk to Dean and tell him? I don’t want him ripping Baron’s head off.”
You’re walking out of the room, and you’re ignoring all the looks you’re getting as you’re heading down all the halls, trying to find Baron.
You finally manage to find him, sitting on a chair all alone in a hallway, and you can hear the music blaring loud from his headphones. You slip in front of his gaze and he’s instantly putting his headphones around his neck as soon as he looks at you, the music coming to a stop.
“My friends mean well, but they’re totally wrong. I know Dean confronted you and stuff and he shouldn’t have and I’m sorry.”
He’s letting out a scoff, shaking his head. “Yeah, well, he was right about one thing. You’re too innocent for someone like me. Shouldn’t even think about touching you.”
You feel like you’ve been punched in the chest and you’re biting your bottom lip to contain your composure. “I’m not as innocent as anyone likes to think I am.”
“You’re a good person. Too good a person. I just don’t give a fuck about anyone or anything.” He’s fiddling with his phone, not really looking at you.
“So? Doesn’t mean we can’t be friends, right?” Saying friends hurts, but it’s got him to look up at you.
“Is that what you want? Friendship?” He sounds like he doesn’t believe you and you know he knows what you really want.
“I…” you’re trailing off and looking away from him. “No, of course not. I mean, I tried to kiss you, after all. I… I really like you. And getting to know you has been amazing and it’s only made me like you more.” You have to stop yourself from going on a tangent about how much you like him, because you’re positive you would list everything that you like about him if given the chance. You’re standing there, hoping he’ll look at you, that he’ll say something, but he’s just staring at his phone, not saying anything. You’re nervous and you’re picking at the skin around your nails, and the silence hangs thick in the air.
“You don’t deserve someone like me.” That hits you hard and you’re shaking your head.
“Baron, you’ve been nothing but nice to me. You could’ve just… turned me down because I was annoying or something. But no, you let me in. And I let you in. It doesn’t matter about deserving anyone. I think that’s bullshit. If you like me, we should at least… try it, right?” Your voice wavers a bit and you’re hoping he changes his tune. But it’s looking like it’s not going to happen. He still won’t look at you and he’s shaking his head.
“Doesn’t matter. I want to, but it doesn’t matter. All I’ll do is bring you down. You’re too good. I’m not. You can’t be with someone like me. It doesn’t work that way. You’ll end up getting hurt and not only will I beat myself up about it, everyone else will come with pitchforks. And that won’t be good for any one of us. So to save the both of us some trouble, I’m just going to put a stop to it now.” And then he’s standing up and walking away, leaving you all alone as you watch him walk away from you.
Your heart hurts and all you can do is watch him turn the corner and leave. Tears well up in your eyes and you can’t even be assed to sit in the chair that Baron just vacated. You sit in the middle of the floor and cry.
It’s Nikki who ends up finding you and she doesn’t say a word. She envelops you into a hug, dries your tears, and then talks you through it. You don’t have a lot of time to recover, because you have a match, and it sucks to have to go out there and act so happy when you’re hurting inside. You flub a bit in the match but you’re so lucky to have people who will help you through the match.
After the match, the girls take you back to your hotel room, where you’re rooming with Becky, and you have a good cry. They promise to make sure the boys leave Baron alone, which you’re thankful for, and you’re even more thankful for them being there for you.
You vow to be honest with them for now on and they promise not to jump to conclusions and talk to you about things.
“I’m sorry, kid.” Of course it’s Dean who wakes you up the next morning. Becky’s out to the gym and you’ve just stayed in bed. You figure you can get in your workout later tonight, right now you just want to mope. You didn’t want to answer the knock on the door but he wouldn’t let up. And now you’re stuck with Dean Ambrose who will not leave you alone.
“‘m fine,” you mumble.
“You want to go on a run with me? I’m in need of a partner.” You know Dean’s trying to cheer you up and you appreciate it, but you just want to be alone. You sigh, and shake your head, but he’s pushing his way into the room and sitting down on your bed. “Come on, I won’t take no for an answer.”
“Why’d you even phrase it as a question then?” You retort, and then move back to bed. You slip inside what you could, pulling the covers over your head. You hear him sigh and then the covers are being pulled off of you. “Don’t be a dick.”
“Is this the first time meeting me, sweetcheeks?” He’s then pulling on your ankle, shifting you down the bed. “Come on, up. Let’s go. I’ll wait while you get changed. Come on.”
You let out a long, loud noise of frustration and then you’re going to grab your workout clothes. You know he won’t leave you alone if you don’t go with him.
And that’s how you find yourself miles from the hotel, and you both really haven’t bothered to talk. It’s good, because it’s given you time to think, a time to recover. And it still stings, it still sucks, but this is what you needed. And you couldn’t be more grateful for Dean.
It’s when you’re halfway back to the hotel when Dean pipes up. “Ya know, Corbin reminds me a bit of myself. Now, I dunno how he acts around you, but from what it sounded like from Renee, it was how I was when I first got interested in her.” You’re looking up at him, eyebrows furrowed. He glances down at you, before he continues. “I was like him, didn’t let anyone in, didn’t really talk to anyone, really. Had a little bit of the lone wolf thing goin’ on, too.
“When I found myself first liking Renee, I was scared as shit. Because here’s a beautiful woman who’s willing to put up with me. And I wanted her to. And I wanted her a lot. And it was scary as all hell for me, because I didn’t really do relationships and shit. It wasn’t a thing that happened.” He’s slowing down his pace, and you’re doing the same, so you’re both walking.
“But… I’m getting a little carried away here. My point is, I think I pushed him into realizing that he cares a fuck ton about you when warning him off of ya and he’s trying to deal with it in his own way. And that means pushing you away. It doesn’t help that you got a lot of support behind you. And it doesn’t help that I kinda fucked things up for you both.” He’s rubbing the back of his neck, and then sighs.
“Give him some space and the idiot will come to. And if not, then I’ll punch him super hard in the ring for you.” You’re letting out a soft laugh at that, and then you’re coming to a stop. You’re pulling Dean in for a hug, not even caring about the sweat that’s covering the both of you.
“You may be an asshat sometimes, but thank you. I needed to hear something like that.”
“Don’t tell anyone that I can be helpful sometimes. You’ll ruin my reputation.”
It’s been two weeks since you’ve talked to Baron. You’ve sent him a text or two, but they’ve been left unanswered. Whenever you see each other in the hallways of the arena, he’d glance at you for a moment, before he would look away. You feel like he’ll never come around and it’s eating you up inside. As much as you love that your friends are there for you, you’ve taken to hiding away to get yourself pumped up for matches. You’d find the one place no one would think to look and stay there, listening to music and scrolling through your social media feeds. Your friends would text you, of course, but until you were ready, you’d ignore them.
Now that you’ve been doing this for a week and a half, it’s sort of become your ritual. You’d get ready, head to hair and makeup, and then once you were done, you’d head off to be by yourself. It’s sad, really, but you can’t be assed to be around a lot of people anymore. And you can’t stand the looks and the gossip and the pity glances that people give you. You also don’t want to see Baron around, because every glance kills you.
You’ve been playing your favorite song on repeat for the past ten minutes, and you’re so invested in your phone that you don’t notice anyone coming down the hallway until they’re sitting next to you on the floor, their arm brushing up against yours.
You jump, turning to look up at the person and you’re letting out a breath when you see it’s Baron. His knees are up, arms resting on top of them, and he’s staring straight ahead. He’s in ring gear, just like you, and he still looks as good as ever.
You’re pulling your headphones out in time to hear him speak. “I fucked up.”
“What?” Is all you really can say, staring up at him.
His lips are pulling up a little bit in the corner. “I fucked up. You wormed your way in and… these past few weeks have really fucking sucked without you. I’m not good with emotions and it took me a long time to think of what to say to make it better with you, but I’m still sort of at a loss. All I know is that you look miserable, I’m miserable, and I know that I had to do something to fix it…” he’s trailing off here and he still won’t look at you.
He’s fiddling with his watch and you’re placing your phone to the side, before reaching out to grab his hand. You’re pulling it down into your lap, and you’re interlacing your fingers with his. “All you had to do is this. And… I’m really glad you’re here…” You’re so glad he’s here, that he came back to you, that he’s admitting he feels something for you, that he wants to try and fix it. Your heart feels ten times lighter, you feel extremely giddy, and you’re just so glad.
He’s looking down at you now, and then he’s adjusting so his other hand is sliding behind your neck, pulling you closer. He’s resting his forehead against yours and you’re closing your eyes taking in the moment. “I’m sorry.” He’s saying, and then he’s silent for a moment. “I let you in and… then I saw all these people care about you and you’re just such a good person and I’m the opposite of that and I just… didn’t know how to handle that.”
You’re pulling back, your other hand coming up to cup his cheek, thumb brushing against his skin. “It’s okay, I understand. And you needed time to collect your thoughts. I’m not blaming you. I just wish you would’ve told me or something…”
He’s looking sheepish and a frown is fixed on his face now, averting his eyes to the side. “Yeah… not the best with talking or emotions. But for you, I’m willing to try.” He’s gazing back at you again, and you’re smiling at him.
“You’re willing to give us a try?”
He’s smiling down at you, eyes soft, and you swear it’s one of the most beautiful images you’ve seen in your life. “Yeah. I want to take you out to dinner tonight. Is that okay?”
You’re nodding, a wide smile gracing your lips. “Yeah, that’s more than okay. That’s totally okay. More than I could ask for, honestly. Well, not really, but you know what I mean. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time.” He’s letting out a soft chuckle, and then his eyes drop down to your lips.
“I’m going to kiss you now,” he’s saying, but he’s hesitating, as if waiting for the okay from you. You’re nodding, enthusiastically and his smile grows wider, before he’s ducking his head down, lips gently meeting yours.
You hum your approval, and you’re kissing him back, letting go of his hand so it can curl around the back of his neck, pulling him closer. And yep, you could get used to kissing Baron Corbin because this is everything you wanted and more.
Hi I can you do 24. "It's six o'clock in the morning you're not having vodka" 42. "Stop being cute" With Baron Corbin please?
Baron had been home for 2 days and early next morning he was due to fly back out, that night you were lay in bed curled into Baron’s side, tracing his tattoo’s. It was something you knew relaxed him and it helped distract you both from the fact he’d be leaving in a few hours.“Come with me.” He muttered as he brought his hand up to gently run up and down your arm. Sitting up slightly you look over at his face to check if he was being serious.
“What?” chuckling in disbelief you sit up fully now causing Baron to do the same.
“Come with me on the tour.”
“Like now or in the future?”
“Yes now.” He grinned at you, taking your hand in his. “We both don’t want me to leave, I cant sleep without you next to me and we both know you hate your job.”
Sighing you looked down at your entertwined hands. “I can’t just up and leave work, yes I may hate it but that’s still no excuse. Besides we haven’t planned anything, I don’t have a ticket and what if WWE won’t let me stay with you?”
“Why wouldn’t they let you stay with me? If they didn’t I’d get us our own hotel. As for the ticket you let me worry about that. I know you’ve wanted to travel and see different places so why not? I need you with me babe, please.” Pulling your hands to his mouth he kissed each knuckle gently. “So what do you say?” He smiles hopefully at you.
“Stop being cute” You smile at him releasing his hands and swinging your legs off the side of the bed. “But my answer is yes. I’ll come with you.” Getting up off the bed you see Baron grinning at you, he quickly crawls over the bed to you and wraps you in his stong arms, pulling you back down onto the bed him covering your face and neck in kisses.
“Yes! I love you soo much honey.”
“I love you too.” You mumble wrapping an arm round his neck to pull him down for a loving kiss. He pulls away after a few seconds causing you to pout.
“You have to pack babe, we’ve got a flight to catch.”
******
Arriving at the airport you were more than a little nervous, you hated flying and tried to avoid it when you could. Of course you’d flown out to see Baron before but you’d had a drink or 2 then to calm your nerves, now it was around 5:30 in the morning and you couldn’t exactly drink then. Sitting with Baron you waited for you flight, your leg bouncing with nerves. Baron glanced across to you noticing your nervous habit, he gently places his hand on your knee rubbing soothing circles with his thumb. Leaning over he puts his chin on your shoulder and kisses your cheek.
“Are you gonna tell me what’s got you so nervous our are you just gonna keep bouncing your leg? Which we both know is gonna piss me off eventually.” He chuckles in your ear hoping to get the same reaction from you, when he doesn’t get a response from you he sits up more concerned. Gently cupping your face he forces you to look at him.
“Okay seriously, what’s going on?” placing a kiss to his palm you place your much smaller hand over his larger one.
“I just….I’m terrified of flying okay?” looking up into his deep brown eyes you start to relax a little.
“But you’ve flown to see me before?”
“Yeah but I’ve had like half a bottle of vodka before then.” You blushed and looked away ashamed. You had to admit it souded like you had some kind of problem, which in a way you did. You had a fear of flying and that was the only way you’d step on a plane to see Baron.
“So that’s why you always insist I fly out huh?” Baron mused out loud to himself but you nodded anyways not wanting to meet his gaze. “Well it’s six o'clock in the morning you’re not having vodka"Leaning down he places a soft, reassuring kiss your lips. “Well it’s a good thing I’ll be sat with you whole way and you can cling on to me for the entire flight.” You glance up at him seeing he’s giving you the goofiest smile you’d ever seen, nuzzling into his chest you feel him pull you into his lap. “I promise I will not let anything happpen to you.” He mumbled into your hair placing a couple of kisses there. Your moment was inturupted by your flight being called, Baron stood up gently sliding you off his lap. Gripping his hand in yours you’re sure he was going to have little nail marks but he didn’t seem to complain, pullling you into his side he led you to the plane.
Finally you made it to your seat and you’d already chewed through one hand of nails and were about to start on the other hand when Baron grabbed it.
“Hey. You’re going to be fine.”
Gripping the seats you glared at Baron. “I’m going to die. I’m not going to be fine.” Suddenly the plane started to move and you gripped the seat even tighter squeezing your eyes shut. That’s when you feel Baron’s lips on yours, his tounge slowly finding yours. You were to lost in the feeling of the kiss to notice that the plane was now up and in the air and people were starting to walk around, giving you funny looks. Eventually Baron broke the kiss slightly breathles and you gave him a lopsided smile, gently scratching his beard.
“I told you you’d be fine.” Baron cockily grinned pulling away from you fully, making you whine slightly at the loss of contact.
“Shut up.” Pouting you looked out the window, you had to admit the view was beautiful and once you were in the air it wasn’t so bad.
“So. Guessing no more vodka on flights?”
“Hmmm I don’t know babe. You aren’t that good.” You wink at him deciding to get up and stretch your legs. He playfully slapped your ass as you walked by shaking his head. God was he gald you agreed to tour with him.
