Barrel racing is an exciting, high-speed rodeo event in which horse and rider race against the clock to finish a wild dash around three barrels positioned in a cloverleaf configuration. The sport is highly demanding for both horse and rider in finishing rapid turns at full speed without spilling any barrels. The horse and rider exhibit spectacular harmonization of lightning speed, agility, horsemanship, and split second timing.
Western Heritage: Similar to the majority of other activities, barrel racing drew its roots from simple ranching ability. Barrel racing is currently a standard women's rodeo event.
Speed & Strategy: Free horsemanship will ride riders out of position and waste precious time, and thus a combination of speed, power, and control must be achieved to have time to a bare minimum while still riding a carefully mapped-out course.
Horse & Rider Synergy: Precision is of the essence, a trained colt will turn on command without requiring too much orders.
Winner Takes All: Each run has to be clean, i.e., no barrels get knocked over; normally, the margin is hundredths of a second only!
Barrel racing is a demonstration of cowgirl horsemanship and endurance in home town rodeos as well as at professional circuits under the WPRA (Women's Professional Rodeo Association). The sport itself is rife with adrenaline seeking entertainment. We make premium quality horse and rider wear. Ships worldwide.
