Romancing Barret Week - Day 2: allies

This wasn't quite the quick one-shot I had intended, congrats to Vincent for derailing the plot.

*Thinking my headcanons through* ...If Vincent is Sephiroth's biological father, and Vincent is together with Barret, that makes Barret Sephiroth's other dad and the Remnants' other grandpa.

Vincent and Barret nerding out over guns together

Vincent: "Oh fuck it, I'm about to hit my Limit Break."

Barret: "Hold on, I got this."

Barret: *puts the vibrating massager attachment on his arm*

Barret: "Okay, now lay down and hold still..."

Vincent: *lays down on his stomach*

Barret: *applies the vibrating massager attachment to his back*

Vincent: "Sweet mother of god..."

I'm going to pretend that Marlene ran under Vincent's cape in FFAC because he's Barret's boyfriend, okay?

Tried out some different ships for Vincent Valentine and I think all of them have merits, but I think Vincent/Barret is my favorite to think about. Like I can see them having a dynamic where they bring good things out in each other and have a good time together.

Okay, here's how I imagine things went in the Northern Cave. (For context, this is based on how I played the game.)

Cloud, Barret, and Vincent go down together. An encounter with a Scissors leaves Cloud KO'd. Barret asks, "are you gonna get him a phoenix down?"

Vincent's like, "Hmm.... umm..." *puts fingers on face, scrunches mouth* "...Barret, you know I love Cloud but, this guy's getting so OP that he's killing everything, and we're not killing anything. I'm getting kind of bored."

And Barret's like, "...Well, that's a little evil, but you got a good point."

And Vincent's like "Yeah, I won't tell if you won't."

So they carry Cloud's body around and just kill whatever they find together and have a pretty good time. And then start finding Master Tonberries down in the caves, and Vincent's like, "Hey, I know about these guys, you can morph them into ribbons" and they figure out their little strategy for morphing Master Tonberries and get a ribbon for everybody. And the rush of morphing Master Tonberries, reknowned for their deadliness, is an entire rush and makes for an excellent bonding experience. Also it's really fucking funny when Barret's Added Effect + Transform combo shrinks the Ahrimans and turns the King Behemoths into frogs.

Finally they get enough ribbons and raid all the treasure they can find. And Vincent's in a great mood and he's falling for Barret now. And they kiss and do some other things, which is why Vincent's nickname is now "Daddy Long-Legs."

Finally Barret grabs his phone and he's like "Hey guys, c'mon back up, we got something for y'all!"

And they all go back up to the Highwind, where Vincent and Barret gleefully show off their ribbon haul. And while one of the Highwind crew revives Cloud, everybody gets ribbons put on. c:
