Barringtone Share wonky new track in 'The New New'
Lighting-up dance floors with their mathematical blend of rock-pop wizardry Barringtone are fast becoming known for their enchanting, complex arrangements and dissonant time signatures. 'The New New' delivers a dazzling synth line and math rock noodling's over rugged disco beats in this improvisational, pulsating and inspirational sound. Reminiscent of AK/DK pumping synth delights, or an optimistic Public Service Broadcasting lifting you straight up into the stratosphere. Barry Dobbins comments: 'Absorbed by lockdown fever-dreams, confronted by our myriad hopes and fears but denied the infantilizing illusions promoted by consumerism might we eventually emerge and find solace in nature - or an acceptable simulation thereof.....?' The New New is a brief introduction to the extraordinary delights of up and coming album 'Bonanaza Plan' https://youtu.be/mWeSxnqQ0aQ Photo Credit: Ashley Jones Video Dir: Christopher Reeves Read the full article

Barringtone - Feverhead/Foxes & Brimstone (7") double A-side
17/02/15
I've been looking forward to Barringtone's new release for a while. They take time between each single (I'm no one to talk). There's something post modern and futuristic about double A-side header ‘Feverhead’, The progression reminds me of The Alan Parsons Project, also Mike Oldfield known for his spectacular work that is 'Tubular Bells'. This is much calmer than previous single ‘Snake In The Grass’, which was a frantic monster of a song. Next up ‘Foxes & Brimstone’, I'm blown away by everything going on here. The guitar jangly and spiraling, yet stabby at times. Synthesizers minimal but still effective. The rhythm section tighter than a posho at a cocktail bar. His voice has always reminded me of Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips, well not far off! The classic changes throughout that only this group and probably The Mars Volta, or An Albatross could pull off nowadays. I'm left feeling exhausted after listening to this, outstanding!!!

BARRINGTONS̶E
Barringtone at the Hotel de Normandie on Saturday April 19 is not to be confused with BARRINGTONS of St Helier. After enquiries they have received in the past week, the jewellers in Conway Street say they are mystified. They point out the concept of a bricks and mortar jewellery shop, its staff and administrative systems somehow delivering a rocking showcase of avant-garde pop at a hotel in…
