From the corner of her eyes, Lois saw the fire spreading outin the room. She should have let Clark coming with her, but no, she was stubborn and she wanted to investigate what senator Cameron had got into, all alone. Of course. And now she was there, tied to a chair, surrounded by flames that would burn down the whole building.

She found it hard to breathe as it was getting warmer and warmer in the room. If only Clark had been here! They would be out of this place right now. "Help!" she screamed, hoping that he could hear it with his super-hearing, even though there wasn't much possibility of that. She tried to strain the ropes that tied her to the chair, but nothing happened; she only felt pain in her wrists. She screamed for help again, trying not to lose hope, but tthis wasn't easy in a room on fire with flames approaching her, quicker than she had expected it.
