BART WASN’T THE BEST WHEN IT CAME TO understanding what to do to comfort someone else. He fully blames his time in the virtual reality machine for doing this to his brain. He tried his best, and there was a better understanding of it now compared to when he was younger. He saw his friend crying, and he was proud of himself for NOT freezing up. “Hey man, I know you’re feeling the mode, what’s wrong? Is there something I can do? Do you want to talk about it? You don’t have to, but I’m here for you.”
Harry hadn’t intended to fall apart like this - he’s been shaken and on edge for a couple of days now, ever since he saw Gwen again. He thought maybe seeing someone like Bart would help - a friend, someone so positive and energetic, maybe it’d make him feel better or at least distract him, but instead all he’s done is break down on the poor kid. Some friend he is.
“Sorry, I’m sorry -” Harry shakes his head, wiping his eyes as he takes a deep, shuddering breath, trying to stop the tears. He sighs softly and glances over at his friend. There’s so much Bart doesn’t know, and Harry’s not sure how he would take it if he did. He doesn’t want to lose another friend. “S’been a tough week, guess I’m just tired..”
