Honestly. I haven't thought even a little bit about this one 😭 the ending scares me. I can't even make one up because my brain is so empty. I'm writing a kind of documentary-style "observing them like zoo animals in various contexts with witty narration" thing that's essentially just a collection of scenes.

But actually. The first paragraph I ever wrote for this might work best for the end (with some heavy editing). So you guys can have that. As a treat :)

Loki laughs, that crooked, half-smile on his face, and for a moment Bartleby thinks that all the stars in the Universe are nothing compared to the gleaming expression staring back at him.  God's will be damned; of all His creations, Bartleby is certain that the most beautiful of them all is not the sky, the Earth, or the myriad of human beings inhabiting the land. He's sure of it like he's sure of the sins committed by the woman they brushed by on their way to the park (theft, many times. As the costs of living rise, her children don't get any less hungry); he knows it like he knows the cold air of Wisconsin in January (intimately. They've been here for so long. Longer than anyone should spend in Wisconsin). The most beautiful of God's creatures is right there besides him, as he has been for the past millennium or so (who's counting?).  He doesn't let it show; he just blinks and lets his gaze drag lazily back to the sky. Stargazing can get pretty boring, but on some nights, it's a little like going back home.
