It had been longer than she cared to remember since she had been back here. The events following her departure not one she enjoyed thinking about. Nevertheless, she was here.

Rushing up the steps to her flat, a bag filled with instant coffee and bottled water bashing against her legs as she reached the top.

Her breath caught in her throat for a moment, before Alice smiled slightly.

Maria once, as an elaborate prank, applied for a patent dealing with a phrase to be displayed on merchandise including clothing. 

In Clint Barton’s name.

The phrase?

“Aw, [insert name of merchandise item here].”

Then she set up a cafepress account and got Stark to subtly advertise it.

She routed the money into one of Barton’s account, and watched the ensuing confusion with well-concealed merriment.
