I mean that Keanu Reeves isn't white and mod m has brought this up before.

Admittedly I hesitated reblogging it without comment because Keanu Reeves is biracial. But here’s the thing despite him being biracial his role in that film fits the mold for the white savior trope.  From what I remember his character in Hardball isn’t treated as anything other than white. I’ll be honest I didn’t know until the past few years that he was biracial because he is white passing.

Like looking back at how he’s gotten so much flack for his acting skills it makes sense that lots of people didn’t consider him white/whitepassing but still that doesn’t take away from fact that he’s been in a lot of roles where’s he’s treated like a white person.

Regarding the white savior films: you should probably comment on Keanu Reeves being lumped in there.

idk if they’re even in the comic. They weren’t on the cover that I saw, but since they were working with the team at the end of the last volume of Batman and the Outsiders, there’s at least some hope they’ll be in it???

I’m praying bc the last appearance of them together should not be written by didio with that terrible fucking art.
