the fictionkin community has a problem with respecting artists. having a kin that is a character from a media source made by a big company like disney is one thing. but I have seen people kin other peoples ocs or their literal personas even though it made the creator uncomfortable.
how it is okay for somebody to be kin with somebody elses character without their permission? If being otherkin can be voluntary, then why does everybody get so upset when a small creator does not want others to kin their characters? if kinning can be a choice then why does everyone act like it is impossible to choose to NOT be kin with a character even if somebody gets kinfeels?
i am a creator and i am scared of sharing my stuff online because my characters are a part of ME and kinning them would be massively disrespectful. but i cant share this opinion publicly because every time somebody brings this up as an issue, they get burned at the stake for it.
I mean no disrespect here but I think you've gotten some false information. I think you might've stumbled upon Kin-For-Fun/Kinnie communities, which are an entirely separate thing from fictionkin- which is an entirely involuntary identity. The entire concept of fictionkin is that it's NOT a choice.
I hope this didn't come off as rude, that's not how I intended it! I genuinely hope you do more research on the topic outside of kin for fun circles

DPD culture is not being able to form an opinion on certain media until you watch a review on it or hear someone you know talk about it, and when you do form an opinion, hearing another person's opinion on it can cause your opinion to shift to that one instead.
