ooc: school + timeline business

I hate to be adding so much ooc to the dash lately but alas the semester was a busy one and I felt the need to keep you guys updated. That being said, I finished my finals last week and got home from school a couple of days ago.

Currently, I'm still unpacking and getting settled back in at home however I am officially done with the semester and am on summer break so I will have a lot more free time now.

Replies:

I have the reply to Bartz drafted and will get to Ingus as soon as I get one reply on my Riku account done. Once those two are done, I'll be free to reply to Queen's starter whenever it goes up. [other matters to get to include bugging zack for my reply heheh]

Admin duties:

I've been fairly slack on admin duties seeing as I'm mostly functioning as a placeholder until actual admin gets back; however I think the timeline is beginning to fall a little too far behind. As that was one of my duties as co-admin anyways, I'm gonna take it upon myself to update as much of it as I can this week.

Once I'm beginning to feel satisfied with it, I'll put up a post and ask all of you to take a look and let me know what's missing.

Birds of a Feather | Bartz and Faris

Faris scuffed her feet on the dirt road. Her daily life was getting busier and busier. Being a Captain had already added to her normal soldier duties. And on top of that the army had been flooded with new arrivals for some strange reason.

She smiled despite all this. Thanks for her recent mission with Zack she had gained a new found appreciation for her life in Oerba. For the first time in a long time, she felt content staying where she was.

In some ways, that was a sort of scary feeling for the pirate who not so long ago clung to her freedom to go wherever she wanted.

It was that lingering itch of fear towards her life's complacency that drove Faris out of her house that day. She needed to take her mind of things. These days, when she sat around too long she got to thinking and when she got to thinking she started getting freaked out about how settled in she was in Oerba.

So Faris continued walking down the quiet streets of Oerba. She thought about dropping by HQ and seeing if anything was going on for her to get in on. If not she could just train and train to get her mind off things.

She paused as she passed the chocobo stalls. There was a solitary voice coming from inside. It wasn't that unusual for people to talk to the birds so that wasn't what gave Faris pause. It was the voice itself... Somehow, it sounded kind of familiar.

After considering the situation briefly, she made up her mind to check it out and opened the door to the stalls abruptly. When she spotted the man inside she pulled up short, realizing that she hadn't really thought through what to say. It would help if she could place him...

Brown hair, kinda spikey in a way (though not compared to Cloud or Zack). He was really familiar. But she couldn't place him.

"Er, sorry about barging in," she began lamely, "just thought I'd drop in and see how the birds were doing."

Taejin Mission 035: Small Steps towards Bigger Dreams.

The afternoon sun blazed as Basch stepped out onto the training field. A small group, maybe 20 recruits, stood before him. "Tch, thanks Faris", he muttered to himself. She assigned him to training duties, something he wasn't looking forward to, but here he was anyway. Most of the recruits were ill-disciplined, he could tell from the way they stood there, and he wasn't happy with it. Taking his coat off, his armour shone in the sun.

"Stand up straight maggots, show some respect!" he roared. The recruits straightened up almost instantly, clearly in shock. "My name is Basch fon Ronsenburg, but on this training field you will address me as Captain, do I make myself clear? Form up in ranks, we have a lot of work to do" Surveying the troops in front of him, he was walking up and down the ranks when movement near the door caught his eye. "Nice of you to join us. What's your name soldier?"
